This was our first stay at Meadowood and it exceeded my husband and my expectations. We've been to Napa Valley several times (we've lost count!) and this time we wanted to ensure we had a relaxing stay, as well as experiencing the wonderful scenery, food and wine the valley has to offer. The service was spectacular without being overbearing, the newly renovated rooms and spa were the perfect mix of updated features while maintaining the charm and warmth of a cottage. We loved the fireplace and serenity of the patio. The food was top notch and our favorite was having "snacks" in the bar at the Restaurant. This was a special treat for us, one that we hope to do again someday soon.

Lynn set us up sweet at this 5 1/2 star resort. No detail is not missed. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate virtually anything. Great wine tour of 3 excellent wineries chosen by their som staff. Great food and fun and gorgeous 9 hole executive course plus great fitness center. The Virtuoso perks resulted in a wonderful room upgrade to a very spacious and beautiful room. Highly recommend!

Meadowood: the emperor's new clothes

The spa, accommodations and amenities were pleasant. The personnel did their best to help make our family's visit as positive as possible. Otherwise, Meadowood was not what we expected and a bad value. We did not anticipate that there are no level paths or easy walking trails on the property. The roads are so steep between accommodations, the main house, restaurants, and activities that most will need to drive or have staffers transport them around the resort. We expected beautiful scenic views including the golf course from our room and balcony. Instead our view was of dying trees and a tree trunk riddled with woodpecker holes and the birds visiting daily to drill more. The Grill for breakfast was a big disappointment. The bacon and the fingerling potatoes were consistently overcooked and dried out. There are extra charges for substitutions on the menu. We found out that the pool was closed only weeks before we arrived, and it was too late to find another resort.

Highly recommend this property. Rooms, restaurants, bars, golf, spa and recreational choices all first class. Wish we could have stayed another night and skipped going to San Francisco

What a stunning resort! The rooms (chalets/cabins) are luxuriously furnished, generously proportioned, and the open-wood fire we enjoyed in our chalet each night was a real treat, especially with a glass of Napa red. The grounds are equally impressive, with acres of woodland, beautiful bird-life, and manicured croquet courts adding an unreal touch. The staff are extraordinarily well-trained to deliver warm and friendly service, and no request seemed too big or too small. Very deserving of the 5-stars from Forbes in 3 categories, making it one of the very few properties to achieve a total of 15 stars.

Meadowood is a special place. The service, the facilities and personalized attention can't be beat. We stayed here for a 40th birthday trip and the concierge service pre-trip and during the trip was top notch. They ensured we had dinner reservations as well as exclusive private wine tastings at some of the best vineyards in the area. The fireplace and in-room accommodations were so cozy, clean and of the highest quality. We will definitely visit again!
