Ca' Sagredo Hotel

Living Museum and National Monument in Venice on the Grand Canal

Ca' Sagredo Hotel

The amazing, five-star Ca' Sagredo Hotel offers “the real Venezia” to its lucky guests with an enviable location overlooking the Grand Canal between the Ca' d'Oro and the Rialto Bridge. Art lovers are in heaven; works by noted Venetian artists of the 17th and 18th centuries adorn the public areas and guestrooms, making the hotel a true treasure — in fact, it has been named a national monument. Consider staying in the Sagredo Suite, the Grand Canal Library Suite, the Heritage Suite or the Arts Suite, all known for their original décors and plasters and paintings by Giambattista Tiepolo, Pietro Longhi and Sebastiano Ricci.

Hotel Tip

This is a living, breathing art museum. The hotel promotes works of art such as Lorenzo Quinn's masterpiece Support Ca'Sagredo. –Janet McLaughlin Cincinnati, Ohio

With a great location in a charming palazzo, the warm and very helpful staff at Ca' Sagredo made our 3 nights there quite wonderful.  Our junior suite, while a bit unusual in layout, was very comfortable with a great view of the city and the Grand Canal.  The Virtuoso benefits were lovely - drinks on the terrace and discount on dining and given without any effort.  Breakfast was elegantly served in elegant rooms, and out lunch was delicious.

Just a breath taking hotel! Our room had the best view of the main canal. The windows open up and you get to soak up all the sites and sounds on the main canal. Once shut you get total silence. The breakfast in the mornings was so delicious. The staff was super friendly and the hotel is within walking distance to everything. I will be a returning customer!

This older hotel is quaint and well furnished. Rooms and public spaces are large and kept clean and neat. There is a nice bar/cafe in the front of the hotel on the canal that serves great small bites and wine/cocktails. The roof-top bar is splendid for an end-of-day beverage. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel is a bit away from St. Mark's square. Since many of the attractions and restaurants we wanted too visit were in that area, we spent a good amount of time on the vaporetta. On the plus side, it was nice a quite and not as overrun with crowds as the areas near St. Mark's.

We have stayed in many hotels suggested by Virtuoso and never have been let down as much as this one. Our experience was probably not helped by coming directly from probably the best hotel we have stayed in, the Grande Bretagne in Athens. The situation of the Hotel is excellent, on the Grand Canal, good surroundings and within walking distance of all main sites, ferry stop and gondolas at the door. Friendly staff and good buffet restaurant for breakfast (when you find It). The main problem is lack of facilities, No tea or coffee making facilities, no ironing, very limited power points to plug in appliances for charging, No drinking water supplied unless charged for and no lounge within the hotel for tea or coffee at other times. The free wifi set up was a joke as we had to daily go down to reception and get the purser to reset our appliances so we could communicate. As there was only one purser on duty at a time, this often required a wait while he was dealing with other clients. In
