Quito and the Galapagos

Metropolitan Touring ran the day tour we took in Quito and the majority of the activities we participated in while we were in the Galapagos. Everything was well run, and the tour guides, naturalists, and staff were amazing. They did a great job connecting with us and making us feel welcome. The overall experience with Metropolitan was great, and I would highly recommend using them to anyone.

Amazing trip to the Galapagos

Metropolitan Touring in Equador was excellent. Our pickups were on time. Our guide and driver in Quito were fabulous and very sensitive to our needs. Our experience on La Pinta for seven days was amazing. The entire crew of the ship was fantastic and very customer oriented. The itinerary was very good and executed very well. We wanted a small ship and luxury at the same time. We got both. We would recommend Metropolitan Touring for a family trip to the Galapagos.

We can't say enough good things about our cruise through the west islands of the Galapagos aboard the Santa Cruz II! The daily excursions on land and water were always well-planned and organized, and the scenery and wildlife was like no other place on earth! The guides were well-informed and true protectors of the environment. The on-board staff made sure we were always well taken care of in our stateroom, in the dining room and in the bar; and the food was excellent and abundant. We have recommended this cruise to many people already - it's a must see and do for everyone!

Metropolitan Touring In Ecuador was Amazing

We spent two weeks traveling in the highlands of Ecuador with Metropolitan Touring. Everything went perfectly. The hotels were so beautiful and the haciendas for lunch were so fabulous. The highlight was the Mashpi Lodge. We really enjoyed the many opportunities there to see incredible wildlife and birds while hiking and riding their cable cars over the forest. We loved out time in the colonial cities of Quito and Cuenca. And we really enjoyed the visits to craftspeople making traditional crafts - we bought quite a few. A highlight was a visit to the Panama Hat company in Cuenca. We can't say enough about how great our guides and drivers were on this trip.

The Way to See the Galapagos Islands

We learned that Metropolitan Touring owned the Santa Cruz ship we were on for 7 days after the trip so our great experience in Peru continued in the Galapagos. Trip capacity of 64 people was the perfect size. Very nice ship, great service, five star cuisine and highly organized small groups really let you see the wild life and experience the Galapagos islands. Metropolitan Touring again provided guides that were experts on the wild life so we learned about migration of the albatross, the blue boobie development and the sea lion colonies. We saw 13 of the Big 15 species of the Galapagos. Our teenage sons totally enjoyed as well since there were activities for them on the ship. Highly recommend.

Guayaquil Tour

Standard practice after a Silver Galapagos cruise is to use the included day room in Guayaquil and then take the midnight flight to Miami. We avoided the red eye (there is also a 0600 flight) by staying 3 extra lovely nights. Great decision! After our first night we had pre-arranged a private car-and-guide day tour through our Virtuoso Travel Agent and it was also an excellent decision. Our local guide, Jorge, from Metropolitan Touring, spoke beautiful American and took us to all the promised sites which included all the local highlights. The tour ran long by about 2 hours which gave us plenty of time for leisurely site-seeing, and an excellent included lunch at the Wyndam in the Santa Ana/Las Peñas neighborhood. While at the Parque Historico, we made dinner reservations at the DON'T MISS Casa Julien restaurant an historic old building. Taxi was only $8+ each way. BTW, Galapagos uses USD. Highly recommend Metropolitan Touring -- ask for Jorge (Hor-Hey).
