ST Costa Rica DMC (formerly Swiss Travel)

this trip had a more difficult aspect in that the destinTion was in a very remote spot. It required an overnight stay enroute. All flights and transfers proceeded smoothly. The accomodations were as advertised. The only glitch was that no boarding pass was provided for leg of return flight. It turns out, none was needed, but that was not explained ahead of time.

Swiss Travel helped our travel agent coordinate a nearly 2 week trip in Costa Rica.  A representative met us at the airport, gave us our final itinerary, introduced us to the driver who would be taking us to our first destination, and then checked on us intermittently throughout the trip.  All the drivers and guides who we met were professional and helpful.  While we never needed to contact someone from Swiss Travel for additional assistance, it was comforting to know that we had local contacts in the event of an emergency.  

We used Swiss travel for our airport transportation and for our zip lining trips and bother were great. Very professional and zip lining was fabulous!

Everything was arranged ahead of time. We did not have to worry about anything on trip! It was all handled!

Swiss Travel employs great drivers and exceptional guides. They were all very knowledgeable and accommodating during our tours.

Before this trip I had no idea what Costa Rica travel would be like. On arrival to the country SWISS TRAVEL was there with a smile. These people are first class. Driving through the country to our destinations their personal attention was immeasurable. Every time we had a transfer to an excursion or new hotel they were prompt, polite and engaging. We even made a request to stop at a Supermarket which they did!!! Love and thankfulness to all my Swiss Travel people!

These guys were the ultimate professionals. They are always punctual and provide very comfortable vehicles. Since my main bag didn't arrive with me, they didn't hesitate to stop at a suitable place so I could purchase a few things that I would need to get by. They made themselves available for language translation and anything else we needed. They gave us as much information along the way as we wanted. They were friendly and made us feel very welcome in their country. I'd highly recommend them.

When planning for the trip the agent took time to go through all the details of the trip. She answered all questions and even gave restaurant recommendations (which were wonderful). During travel Swiss Travel was there to make changes in transportation needed. And help find missing glasses.

Very impressed with the coordination of a complex travel plan! Only complaint is wish we would have had more time to do more! Great job by Swiss Travel.

The drivers were all very nice and friendly. They were on time and careful drivers However, the schedule leaving CR had them picking us up 5 hours before our departure. This shortened the time we had at the resort on the last day. And made for a very long day at the airport

Swiss travel met us at the boat as we disembarked and drove us straight to our resort in Costa Rica. The driver was friendly and very fluid in English. I wish we had been in a more comfortable vehicle than a bouncy 10-12 person van. The hotel we stayed at first - Nayara Springs near La Fortuna - is one of the nicest ad best hotels we've ever stayed in around the world. It was expensive but simply wonderful. We can't wait to return! We took a hike around the Arenal volcano with a guide and he was a delight. It was a very intimate tour and he was full of interesting and useful information. We wen to the Tabacon hot springs which were quite interesting and unlike any hot springs we'd ever visited. We had dinner at the hot springs restaurant buffet. It was awful! Near to inedible! We took a late afternoon ride into the middle of Cost Rica and then spent 90 minutes in the dark poking for frogs and other wold life. Our guide was fabulous and very informative and well as humorous.

From the moment we landed at our travel destination, Swiss Travel was a joy to work with. Their knowledgeable staff, guides, and drivers were first-class! We felt "a part of the family" when we were in their care. The choices of accommodations and locations were stellar and well researched. My husband and I would totally recommend Swiss Travel as a tour operator.

Excellent service, great guides, amazing adventures!

This was a custom designed day tour to fill in the day after leaving a ship in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. The van, driver and guide arrived at the pier early, but we didn’t know and left at the scheduled time. The van was good and comfortable and communication with our guide was clear. I had chosen three sites to visit; the town of Sarchi, known for handicrafts, the Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Sarchi was not very interesting but my wife and I very much enjoyed talking with a group of craftsmen with our guide helping translate. The volcano would have been a wonderful sight I’m sure if it hadn’t been completely fogged in so thickly that we could only about 15 feet into the crater. I took a picture of a postcard to know what we missed. La Paz Gardens was an excellent center and deserved a full day on its own. But the tour that I had called for involved much more driving time than I anticipated. Our guide and driver worked late to get us to our hotel at 7PM.

We had numerous trips (surfing, ATVs, mega combo & white water rafting) and all were fun - with excellent & knowledgeable guides. It was apparent that the guides cared about your experience - we felt we were in good hands on all of our outings. I can’t say enough positive things! Thank you.

Swiss Travel did a great job in organizing this trip for us. The accommodations were all very nice and the tours were great. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

We were forgotten for our first excursion. Being our first we waited, thinking they were just running a bit late. When we realized no one was coming to pick us up, we contacted Swiss Travel and were told there were “transportation issues”. I’m understanding that things come up, but for them to NOT contact us to inform us of this issue, means to me they were never coming to get us. Our day should have been a half day excursion and half day at the pool. We were offered a later time and our children wanted to do the later time. This meant our morning was spent waiting and rescheduling the excursion and our afternoon was spent on the excursion. We lost out on an afternoon relaxing at the pool. Our second excursion was an all day excursion. Our guide was fantastic and the driver was great.

as a photographer, i want to have a chance to photograph the many colorful birds in Costa Rico. First the van they used to carry us was in bad shape. Second, they told us it was a 3 hour adventure but didn't tell us that it would be an hour drive to where they were recommending and then a hour back to the dock - leaving very little time for exploring. Third, they had no bottled water or snacks in the van. Fourth, the trip did not follow what their brochure stated would take place. Fifth, the guide was knowledgeable. And tried to find birds.

Very well organized. Guides for all adventures and tours were knowledgeable, accommodating, and engaged with young adults as well as older adults.

Our tour to Manuel Antonio was terrific. Our driver Ronald and tour guide John were both friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable. After touring the park and seeing many animals, we had an excellent lunch at a restaurant with an amazing view. Our Night Walk tour was unique, memorable and interesting and our guide, David was great. Our driver, Ronald, was engaging and friendly. We saw a sloth, macaws, a tarantula, leaf cutter ants, frogs and other creatures. Walking in the jungle with just a flashlight is an experience I won't forget.

We could not be happier with our experience with Swiss Travel. Every accommodation was exactly as expected, every transfer between resorts was on-time and with friendly and safe drivers. We had a potentially bad experience of forgetting a mobile phone on our bus, but working with the local contacts Swiss Travel had hired made this a simple, easily-resolved situation. We were able to continue our tour and found out the phone was found via radio. Turned into no problem at all. Thank you to Swiss Travel!

Every tour was amazing

Swiss Travel did a great job of everything they were booked to do. They were very responsive in the office and all the people we traveled with (drivers and guides) were so kind, helpful and knowledgable along the trip. The only complaint was the day we had our excursion changed to another beach further away our return transportation was in a personal car and not a travel van which was uncomfortable for our family for the time of travel and given we were wet and sandy from the day.

Tour guides were extremely informative and incredibly nice. They answered all our questions and gave more information than we could have asked for.

Planning was perfect. When there was need to contact Swiss Travel, they were very responsive and helpful.

It was fantastic. We had a great driver and our tour guide was all anyone could ask for. Showed us things we may not have noticed and very informative . He was pleasant and answered questions. Absolutely would give him a 10!

We had a great experience. All of our guides and drivers were very kind and knowledgeable and made a huge difference in the ease and experience of our trip. Our kids loved them and they made it fun and special for them. We had one miscommunication about a pickup time and I was able to reach out to them via WhatsApp and heard back from someone very promptly. I would recommend them to anyone visiting Costa Rica.
