I have always liked having travel insurance but this was the first time that I've had to use it. While we are still in the process of getting everything submitted, so far it has been fairly easy and they have been helpful with any questions that we've had. It was a relief to know that when there were additional fees due to rescheduled flights, the travel insurance would cover it. It definitely allowed me to enjoy my vacation without having to think about the additional costs.

All i can say Insurance on travel is a must these days when you have elderly parents. Everyone needs to be able to make travel plans knowing that they can get their money back if something terrible happens before or during the trip. I have not had to make a claim regarding travel insurance. Two couples in the group flights were canceled so they had to stay another night. They had to fly home on another airlines the next day . I guess I will be hearing how things work out for them.

Fortunately, we did not have to use the travel insurance services. We were concerned about reaching our destination as we had plane delays in San Francisco and still had one more flight segment before reaching Ft Lauderdale. It would not have been good to miss our 16-day cruise! We started from Maui leaving on a Friday and arrived Saturday mid-afternoon. Two of the 3 flight segments were overbooked by 48 people!! It was worth getting travel insurance just for this reason.

At the end of our tour, our flight home was canceled. I know we received a refund for the canceled flight, and a claim for our final hotel and airport transport has been submitted. I'm not sure if these went through the insurance company, or were sent directly to the entities involved. In any case, we have experienced no difficulties in any of this. We always take out travel insurance, and this company was highly recommended.

We had no occasion to use our insurance on this trip.
But on previous trips we have had everything from a broken tooth repair to a kidney stone and hospital stay completely covered by Travelex with no copay. You can't top that.

Because, we are 65 and 63, Tim & I got this insurance in case one of us could not make it. Tim is diabetic, that is a pre-existing condition. But if he had suddenly been unable to walk, we would have gotten a physicians to let Travelex know this. I do not regret getting this insurance. We were at sea for over 10 days. Although not needed I would purchase again in case of emergency. Thank you.

We have used Travelex for all our international trips and found their coverage and price to be very competitive. Last year we were delayed and filed a claim which was settled quickly and without contention. You may not want trip delay insurance, but check your health policy to see if you're covered overseas. In most cases, Medicare will NOT cover you in a foreign country (with a few exceptions).

While my husband and I did not require services from our travel insurance, we were very disappointed at their handling of problems for other members of our party. When our granddaughter found out that she was unexpectedly expecting (pregnant) shortly before our trip, her physician (based on recommendations from the CDC) forbade her to travel to Turks and Caicos. The threat of ZIKA in that area is very real. Despite physicians orders and CDC recommendations, travel insurance refused to honor their necessary cancellation. Very disappointing.

Thankfully we didn’t have have to use the insurance. Although we came very close as my son experienced some bad side effects from the altitude medication and we needed medical attention at the Lima airport. It was unclear he was able to travel. Thankfully he recovered. That said, I was so glad to have purchased the insurance. It was one less thing to worry about during what could have been a real emergency. I travel a fair amount and have never purchased Travel Insurance. I will think differently in the future.

There was a time when I thought I was going to cancel my trip because of a daughter's health scare. Oh my thank you Amy, our travel advisor, for suggesting Travelex Insurance Services. About 6 weeks prior to our travel to Europe, I broke my leg. I was in hopes that I could still travel but my doctor did not advise it until it was fully healed. We cancelled our trip and Amy provided our Travelex paperwork completed and sunmitted it. The only hang up was doctor’s submission. Once received all paperwork it was painless and submitted through Amy. Received refund for everything except insurance. We rescheduled our trip and took out once again travel insurance. We are very happy with Travelex. Thank you.

Because of Wendy's planning and professionalism, we had such a marvelous time. I am a senior citizen and I took my 20 year old granddaughter to New York City. We were gone four days. From the moment of take of to our landing back in Des Moines, it was magical. Every thing that we wanted to do, Wendy did with extra care and suggestions, too. Only one thing, and it wasn't Wendy's fault. I had said that I thought the front row of Lion King was too close. She assured me that the fellow she used for tickets said that it would be more than fine. It wasn't! It was too close!
I would never think of going on a vacation without the help of Wendy's extraordinary gift of care and concern for our time away. She is a treasure.

I have always used Travelex Insurance Services for my trips. I have never had to "test" the system until this trip. I was delayed one day in Malaga and I have been informed that Travelex Insurance will reimburse me for the hotel cost for that one day. I have not submitted the paperwork yet but I anticipate no problems.

Not only are we retired, but have elderly parents. Our number 1 concern was having to change or cancel our trip due to unexpected health issues of our own or our parents. Travelex had a product that met our expectations and could be slightly modified to meet the value of our trip and at an affordable price. this took away our concerns about traveling overseas and having the unforseen happen. Fortunately, we did not need to use it. We will purchase this product in the future.

I think travel insurance is necessary and I accepted the recommendation to purchase Travelex. However I was late leaving my cruise ship and could not find my prepayed taxi thus having to pay a taxi to the airport. Taxi driver did not give me a receipt. Travelex would not reimburse my taxi fare without a receipt. I was not happy about this.

We buy the insurance but when our flight was delayed and the airlines said it was due to "air traffic control" our claim was denied as they said that was not a covered pearl. Our flight was delayed and we incurred expenses and this insurance company got technical on terminology so they could have an excuse to deny coverage. Fortunately, our cost were minimal but that isn't the point.

Disappointed that more of the expenses incurred by our recent trip interruption were not covered. My brother's death was imminent in the UK so had to leave the ship in Tromso. Travelex only covered air to the UK and back to the US. No hotels or car rental were covered. They said under the terms of the policy we were made whole.

I do not see what they cover. They more look for ways to not cover problems. We submitted a claim and basically told it was not cover. An airline cancelled on us and as a result we missed our flight and had to rebook. The airline cancelled due to mechanical problems. We produced all of the documents they requested only to be told that fight cancellations like this are not cover................

just 26 days prior to departure, my wife suffered a stroke, I had planned the vacation of my lifetime with my whole family, 28 days in Europe, cruises,6 countries, train travel, hotels, ......We had to cancel, every thing was prepaid in excess of $100000.00 ,there were 12 insurance policies, well with GIGI's help I received every dollar back. just imagine !!!!

We use traveled insurance for all our trips. Three times we have had to cancel our trip over the past 7 years. The insurance saved us a bundle. The process was very simple. We sent a doctor's report and filled out some forms and our money for the trip was returned. Travelex was very helpful and I highly recommend travelers to have travel insurance. Travelex is an excellent company to deal with.

Me and my wife just got back from a trip to St. Lucia that Frances booked for us. She did a great job planning the trip and helping me with every detail. This was a 20 year wedding anniversary trip. My wife did not know where we were going until we got to the airport that morning. Frances helped me keep this a secret and she helped me plan everything from restaurants, to the resorts, different trips, airline tickets and even a surprise helicopter ride. Frances did an amazing job. She wants you to have a great time where ever you go. She was so very helpful and the big thing was that she gets as excited as you do about your trip. Fortunately we did not have to use the insurance and had a wonderful time on the trip. It was very comforting to know that if we needed to cancel the trip that we would have been covered.The trip was wonderful. The accommodations in Copenhagen, on the ship and especially in Stockholm exceeded out expectations. The weather was a bit off, partial rain in Copenhagen, Berlin and Tallinn with temperatures between 57 and 62 degrees. Had a great guide in St. Petersburg and could have stayed another day. Helsinki was a nice relaxing alternative after two days in St. Petersburg and spending two days in Stockholm staying at the Grand Hotel put the finishing touches to a wonderfully enjoyable trip through the Baltic and Scandinavian countries.

For my recent trip to Italy I bought trip insurance for the first time. Boy, am I glad I did. Eight days into a 12 day trip I suffered a broken hip while riding a bicycle in Tuscany. I require evacuation to a hospital in Siena where emergency surgery to reduce the fracture was performed later that day. In addition to the interruption of the remaining vacation, which included scheduled tours, reservations, and shuttles, I required a seat upgrade to 1st class in order to be able to ride the entire trip back home in as code to a supine positions possible. The Travelex representatives responded to our cry for help immediately and faxed over the necessary claim forms within minutes. They provided us both written and verbal instructions for filling these out and, more importantly, a lot of much needed reassurance. Te claims were processed promptly and I all my added expenses were reimbursed without question. I would highly recommend this travel insurance company

We had a great time overseas with plenty to see and plenty of time to see them. A wonderful experience but terrible service with the connections overseas. We had made arrangements for pick-ups at every train station at the time of our arrival and rides from out hotel to the train stations.. Unfortunately, many times there was no one waiting to pick us up and times when there was no one to take us back to the train station. We made several international calls to reach someone while standing at the station with our family and baggage and were told that they would get back to us but never heard from them again. One of the drivers who did arrive took us to the wrong departure location and we had to pay for a cab to the airport. The only other blip was when we arrived at one of our stops along the way and were told that we had to pay for the tickets even though we later found a document that confirmed our payment.

We have always purchased travel insurance but never expected we would need it. I cannot make much of a comment on how the medical expenses were handled because in Denmark it is socialized medicine and we were told there would be no bill. I realize if some type of medical bill does come through we have up to a year to make this claim. But at this point we were not handed any bills for the hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark.
However, the portion of the insurance from On Call International was well worth it. It was a great relief that I did not have to deal with any arrangements for getting a return flight to the US. It was also a godsend that an escort nurse was sent to us to help us get back home. I do not think we could have made it as successfully as we did with just the two of us. I cannot say enough times how grateful we are to Lisa Blackburn. She was very thorough and efficient in assisting Jay’s released from the hospital and navigating all aspects of our travel back to the States

I had a little too much fun wakeboarding and had to take a trip to the doctor. Subsequently I needed a couple days of rest and no travel. I am lucky that there were no "accidents" during my journey in a wheelchair from the Fairmont Hotel in Toronto to the VIA train at 11:30pm on our recent trip. It was a big hike from the station to the train and no railroad personnel were on hand. The hotel person left me on a bench and went back to his hotel. After much shouting, a woman appeared and arranged for a wheelchair. The track area is a construction site (and has been for years, we were informed) and the lengthy trip to the train was VERY dangerous. One worked pulled wires and cables out of my way. The area was very dim (very little light) and the route precarious. I believe it is not safe for passenger walking, much less wheel chairs. I was lucky THIS time.

We have wanted to go to Italy for years and finally did it. We worked with Stefany who helped us plan this trip down to the smallest detail and It was perfect. We had a truly amazing 2 weeks in Italy and we owe this all to her planning and help. We had the perfect worry-free trip because of her.
We had a very small issue come up part way thru the trip and Stefany took care of it for us that same day (even being 5,000 miles away). We were so impressed. You will not find a better Travel agent to work with than her.

Spending an additional 7% for an expensive cruise hurts, but the "peace of mind" may be worth it. Travelex seems to provide the best coverage for the price, & our travel agent says their experiences for claim settlements has been good. This was the 9th time we have used them, with only one minor claim in the past (where they "bent the rules" for customer satisfaction). On the other hand, they gave our friends a lot of grief for a lost-luggage claim this past September, settling the matter only after extended, contentious arguments.

Although none of the insurance services were needed, we almost needed it twice. The first time was before we even left the US and our flight was going to be delayed causing us to miss our connection. The agent on the phone was looking into other flights in case we missed our connection, both later that day and the next day. However, we made our connection! Then my husband fell extremely ill in Costa Rica and we thought we were going to need a doctor. I was on the phone with traveled VERY early in the morning getting a list of doctors and hospitals. The gentleman on the phone also said he would go ahead and send the claims forms in case we did go to the hospital or doctor so when we got home, the forms would be waiting for us. He walked me through the entire process of what to expect and what I needed. Thank goodness, my husband recovered and we did not need to go to the doctor. However, the claims forms were waiting for us in the mail if we did need it!

We both came down with a bug a day after arrival. Never having been ill on a trip before, we even had to call in the doctors, stayed some extra days in a different room, which thankfully the hotel arranged. Fortunately, we booked some extra playtime on the front end of our trip. Eleanor at International Railway Traveler had recommended Travelex. Traveling with us, she facilitated medical help, & provided guidance with Travelex which made us feel comfortable & allowed us to recover quickly in time to join the rest of the travelers. The Travelex people made us feel like we did not need to worry about a thing; just relay the information to them (We are in process of doing since our trip has concluded.), and they would respond accordingly. Sarah and Nadia were extremely helpful in repeatedly checking on us & giving us guidance as to what we needed to do, i.e. requesting medical reports before we left, etc. Thank you so much for comforting and instructing us during this anxious time.

Luckily we did not need to avail ourselves of the travel insurance offered through Travelex. We were assured by our trusted travel agent, Izumi Ogawa of Vision Travel, that Travelex is the best. If you have ever had the pleasure of working with Izumi you know that when she says something, you can count on it one hundred percent! Our 19 day European adventure consisted of a group of four family members that were between 61 years and 82 years young. So it was great to know that we would be covered and taken care of if anything should happen and/or interrupt our trip. A great and easy way to have peace of mind and just focus on having a good time on our trip.

Our travel advisor recommended Travelex considering that we were taking our whole family on vacation. She knows that life is unpredictable (especially with kids) and there is always a chance something could come up that might interfere with our scheduled plans. With the trip being very tour and date specific, we hated the thought of losing out on our initial investment should something come up. Everything went as planned...but we still had piece of mind that we were taken care of should the unexpected happen.

Previously used this company for travel insurance. Claim form is confusing. Call insurance 800 number for walk through easily. Claims were all paid as promised. Plenty of time to file claim one full year from date of service. Helpful nice phone agents. Be sure to get a full copy of entire file from Ship's Medical Center BEFORE you leave the ship. Do NOT disembark without full original file and second full copy of that original file.
Claim will only accept originals paid receipts and files. Keep full copy of all you will submit with claim form when you get back home. Make sure your full original file and copy of file contain all "Progress Notes" that all attending doctors made on service. Do not disembark without Progress Notes in Full File Original and Full Copy you keep. Original will be sent to Claim and you keep entire copy. Never surrender your entire copy of everything. Make sure you get all second copy original paid Bill Receipts.

They transported her home from Mexico so she could have surgery in our home town. The transport was completed within 24 hours of the accident. Would not travel without this coverage.

Anytime we travel we will get travel insurance. This was a rescheduled trip because I broke my leg for previous scheduled trip in April-May. After completion of paperwork Travelex was there to help quickly. On this rescheduled trip we did not hesitate to purchance travel insurance again.
