We had an excellent and very knowledgeable tour guide take us to Fontainebleau and a tour of Paris. We really appreciated the Meet and Greet at the airport. They arranged a dinner for us at Guy Savoy Restaurant. We would recommend Descouvertes to any and all.

This group provided us a well-qualified and responsive guide for several days of viewing the sites of Paris. They were well-organized and responsive. The guide (Elvira Mendes-Gregoire) was especially good. She understood that we did not want to spend a great deal of time in museums but rather wanted to see neighborhoods and have a sense of the City over a limited amount of time. Based on her guidance we were able to ride the Metro and get around ourselves on the several days we did not have a guide. It was a very enjoyable introduction to Paris for both of us.

We loved the tours they scheduled for us and our guide, Denise. We were treated like VIP's every step of the way and experienced things that most tourists do not see. Denise knows all the guides at the local attractions and gets us right into places that others cannot go. She is very knowledgeable and interesting. We would recommend and use this Tour Operator again any time. Our driver was great too.

Private tours of Versailles and the Louvre were made special by our guide. We would not have enjoyed the experience without him. Meet & Greet at airport upon arrival made our entry into Paris smooth. Wine tasting experience was interesting. Guide and skip the line at Eiffel Tower was helpful. Our week in March was without sun so our plans were essential to our enjoyment of the magnificent city of Paris.

Every tour was so well planned and organized. With the small groups we had the opportunity to step into doors that would not ordinarily be open to tourists. The guides were so well informed about the local events, customs, foods, history and fun little facts that made each excursion special.

Our tour operator in France worked seamlessly with us while we were in country. Every detail was well planned and thought out, even when our train was delayed and they had our new train tickets emailed to us ASAP. Special thanks to our Guide in Normandy Diane...she has to be the most well-rounded guide in the area for the D-Day beaches and Mont St. Michel. An absolute pleasure to spend two days with her. Likewise in Paris with our Guide Rebekah...her knowledge of the Louvre is unsurpassed. We would recommend this group for anyone who wants to experience the best of France.

While I don't feel this tour operator service was poor, we had several problems that should have not occurred. The car rental was not as represented when we go to the airport agency and when we got the car we expected they charged us an additional charge. That charge was reversed by Carissa Gulyas upon our return. The hotel in Cannes was less than satisfactory - represented as a 5 star hotel it was not of that quality. More importantly the driver who was scheduled to drive us to the Nice airport from our hotel was 45 minutes late as he went to the wrong hotel in the wrong town! The drive to the airport was uncomfortable given that the driver appeared to be somewhat impaired (too much of a late night?). He took us to the wrong airport terminal after being told several times which terminal we were going to. He was very unprofessional and his dispatcher didn't know what was going on either. We are waiting for a refund. This is all the tour operator's responsibility.

However, they were responsible for our itinerary being so detailed and timed perfectly. Decouvertes was also responsible for our tour guides all of whom were fantastic. A great company to work with.

Mostly positive. The guides were very well i formed. Misstep by not having a big enough bus on one leg, and no bathroom on the bus for a 4 hour ride back to Paris. Although we did stop twice for short breaks, it would have been nice to have one on the bus itself.

Lucie (in Champagne,) Pierre (in Burgundy,) and Florence (in Alsace) were absolutely fabulous. It was like traveling with friends. We were blown away. Our guides and drivers were very personable and informed. They listened to our needs and interests and fashioned the day accordingly. Muguet, Petr, Rebecca, and Moshe were so kind to our group and went out of their way to make our week in Paris a memorable one.
*The only place I would not recommend returning to in the hotel in St. Mere Eglise for a meal.....it was ok, but took too much time for mediocre food.....This is the only partial complaint for the entire week!

Decouvertes did a great job identifying accommodations and arranging for two different tour guides---one in Champagne and one in Burgundy---both of whom were so knowledgeable, easy to be with, all of which made for great days. I also was able to take advantage of a Marne River champagne experience; also loved that trip and the captain. Last but not least, the Truffles experience was so worth it. Fun to watch the dog hunt for truffles and the food was superb. When I inadvertently (and stupidly) left my passport and jewelry in the safe in the first home, they reached out to me as soon as they were aware.

Overall our experience in Paris was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed most of our tour guides! They were very fluent in English and extremely knowledgeable about their subject matter! They also had a quick wit, which made the experience even more enjoyable! I could go on and on about New Years Eve at the Moulin Rouge or lunch at the Eiffel Tower, but you will just have to experience it yourself! We had an awesome experience with the tour company. They worked in lock-step with our local travel advisor and always communicated in a timely manner when we had questions or changes. We only ran into one small glitch at the end of our tour when our driver daily to meet us at the train station. Fortunately, we had been given contact numbers for all our guides/drivers and we were able to connect within 15 minutes.

All of the guides and drivers we dealt with from Decouvertes were fantastic. The guides were well versed on the places we visited. The drivers were always early and extremely courteous. There was one scheduled event that changed by the provider. Decouvetes called me to inform me of the change and that other arraignments had been made. Except for the call informing me of the change, I would not have known anything was different from what was originally planned.

We have booked many, many Virtuoso trips and had perfectly lovely times in over 15 countries. Not so much with Decouvertes. In spite of our asking for help with dinner in the small towns we were staying in, Decouvertes neglected to mention that our first stop would be in a tiny out-of-season resort town with limited restaurant availability on Sunday and Monday nights. Dining suggestions in other towns consisted of website links, many of which were for places that were closed on the days we were there.
We had a family emergency requiring us to cut the trip short and the Decouvertes
was asked to get us to Paris on short notice. Their solution was to take a taxi (140 KM), although we had a car & driver booked for the day. Decouvertes then suggested a taxi to a town 35KM away to catch a train requiring 3 train changes. The hotel concierge quickly arranged a direct to Paris train from a nearby town 10KM away.
We had many issues on our shortened 3 day trip. We will never use them.

Their performance was spotty. They booked 5 hotels for us. 3 were great. 2 were lousy. We had 5 guides. 2 were outstanding. The other 3 were presumptuous and decided they could invite themselves for lunch. Totally unacceptable! They chose the wine for a vineyard tours. Not good choices.
For the money we paid for this 2 week trip, I feel we were overcharged.

We had a wonderful time in France. The French team was able to secure French Open tickets for us which was a highlight of our trip. All of our planned activities were excellent with great guides. There was a few glitches including no greeter when we arrived at the airport and soccer riots which caused us to miss a visit to Moulin Rouge. The team offered refunds for those. One particular driver, Remy, was absolutely wonderful and deserves special recognition. He was spot on and worked magic every ride to get us where we needed to be safely, in spite of French open traffic and riotous street traffic. Our only recommendation is to work on a little better communication with clients especially when the airport greeter didn’t show. Overall a great and enjoyable trip in France.

We went through various options for our trip and Didier at Decouvertes was very prompt in updating the plans and quotes to accomodate us. the only issues that came up during the trip were the rental car agency who wanted to charge us twice and the hotels requesting to see a voucher of our payment. Both were resolved through discussions with their staff on duty, but I wonder if there could have been more information made available to us to show that we had pre-paid for these items.

We never had a moment of worry. Our guide John-Noel was so wonderful and professional. We had our high school Junior with us and we were able to see where history was made. It was so exciting to see him so interested and engaged. Thank you for making our trip an amazing experience!!! Excellent hotel recommendations and choices too! It was perfect for us.

The guides on our tours in Southern France were extremely knowledgeable and willing to please. They were flexible to our requests throughout the day to make sure we saw and did what we wanted, which we really appreciated. They were all very well studied in the history of the area and very passionate in sharing that with us. It was a pleasure to discover this beautiful part of the world with Decouvertes.

Descouvertes was an absolutely perfect travel service. Their arrangements of lodging and transportation were done to ensure the maximum of comfort and travel experience in our trip. Every travel guide who met us catered to our desires and demonstrated a full knowledge of the organization they were dealing with on our behalf, especially in airports and train stations. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the areas we toured and did everything to show us the things we were interested in. The Descouvertes service was essential to the overall success and enjoyment of our trip!

We were delighted with our guides. Their knowledge of history, local economy, geography, art and culture was truly impressive. And they both had great personalities, too! Instructions were clear on how to meet to get started. The pace was relalxed but we got a lot done! Restaurants chosen for meals while we were out and abut were charming and our meals were delicious. We also did a large group dinner in Paris, arranged by Decouvertes which went off without a hitch. Here is an agency you can count on for caring service and attention to detail.

Boy, these were great tours! It was destiny that Elvira and Morgane were our guides. They both meshed perfectly with all of our personalities. These knowledgeable and personable guides brought the French countryside and Paris alive for us! We would love to return to France to tour with these guides.
