Zegrahms Land Tour of PNG

By: Liz

Reviewed on: 05 Mar 2018

Our trip was a LAND BASED expedition in PNG. We stayed in 3 hotels/lodges. Two of the three were very good. The third was a lodge in the East Sepik River area that we flew and boated to. Its the only lodge in the region so no choices if you want to go there. The accommodations were clean but rustic. Having the walls meeting the ceiling would really help cut down on the number of bugs getting in at night. The power was to go off at 10 PM but fortunately for us (unfortunate for them) a few of the guests had sleep apnea and needed power to work their breathing devices. There were overhead fans however our mosquito net had a solid top so the fan was of marginal help. A few adjustments here would make the sleep so much more comfortable in 30 degree high humidity weather.

Caldonian Sky is a comfortable expedition ship

the Caldonian Sky is a very comfortable expedition ship, with a competent and welcoming staff. The food was consistently tasty, with an interesting variety, beautifully presented and served by the excellent dining room personnel. The ship is kept in "shipshape" condition, thanks to the constant cleaning and polishing by the ship's personnel. The cabins are clean and comfortable, and relatively spacious. I loved it.

Zegrahm Expeditions - Search for Snow Leopards

By: Dave

Reviewed on: 28 Feb 2019

This trip was not a cruise aboard the Caledonian Sky. It was a land tour in the mountains of northern India. The trip exceeded all my expectations. I was treated to viewing exotic wildlife and spectacular scenery. The tour leader and the Indian guide were both excellent in terms of personality and expertise, and I returned with a wealth of information and insight. In addition, there were local trackers (perhaps seven or eight) who were constantly out in harsh conditions, striving to find us wildlife. Other big positives were the remote environments, the wonderful food and the opportunity to witness the local culture.
