Our Commitment
Grantley Hall is committed to reducing its environmental impact and the new build areas of the hotel were designed to BREAM gold standards. We have our own bore hole which provides all of the hotel's water and also supports the hotel's hot water and heating system. the hotel is a part of The Skell Valley Project between the National Trust and Nidderdale AONB which aims to slow water flow along the river improving the landscape for local residents and wildlife. The hotel supports a number of local and national charities and our owner is hugely philanthropic supporting many local charities, the Princes Trust and is a founder of Newlight Art, a charity for the celebration and promotion of the visual arts in the North of England.
We source 80% of our food products from within a 20 mile radius and have our own kitchen gardens to further reduce our food miles and ensure our products are sustainably sourced.
We have recently installed solar panels and created a small wild flower meadow to attract pollinating insects.
The hotel is a strategic partner of EarthCheck and is fully accredited. Full details of our environmental policy are available on our website.
