    Our Commitment

January 2024: Isla Bella Beach Resort reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation by donating $85,000 to The Conch Republic Marine Army (CRMA) to help them acquire a K3 Henrikson 33 boat. This donation allows CRMA to take more people on each of its marine debris cleanup trips in the Florida Keys.

"My goal is to empower CRMA to sustain its crucial work by establishing a post in the marina at Isla Bella while creating meaningful experiences for our hotel guests," said Justin Nels, General Manager of Isla Bella Beach Resort.

CRMA annually attracts 300-400 volunteers for cleanup activities. Isla Bella will add more than 1,000 to the volunteer efforts. The organization has seen a surge in participation from 25 to 250 volunteers within three cleanup events, each coordinated through social media platforms. Noteworthy achievements include the removal of 227 tons of marine trash, 93 refrigerators, and a staggering 510 miles of trap line.

Those interested can join CRMA’s excursions departing from the Isla Bella Beach Resort marina on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Guests will ride into the mangrove ecosystems and learn about the Florida Keys, its history, and the marine life that consumes it, like turtles, stingrays, manatees, and endangered birds. Upon return, the trash will be weighed and documented to add to the CRMA totals, which can be seen at www.conchrepublicmarinearmy.org.
