At The Royal Portfolio we believe passionately in investing in Africa. Our Purpose & Values dictate that we uplift local communities, promote conservation and protect the environment. There are two aspects to this business ethos – our internal, daily operations and our external impact on the broader community. This forms part of our staff induction and each member of staff is able to recite our company purpose and values. Sustainable tourism is about ensuring a long-term future for African tourism based on partnership and community benefit. We believe that revenue from tourism should be used to ensure sustainability of the industry, to create jobs and to conserve Africa’s precious wildlife and spectacular landscapes for generations to come. In order to guide our strategy, projects and processes we have implemented the Three Crowns Sustainability Framework (3Cs), which encompasses the three core areas of Conservation, Community and Environment. Within this framework The Royal Portfolio Foundation focuses on specific fundraising initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for various property projects. Beyond these CSR initiatives/3Cs, also helps our business to organise and addresses sustainability efforts for each property’s internal operations and how these impacts our external environments. The Royal Portfolio is committed to designing, building and operating our hotels with the guiding principles of the 3Cs framework in mind.
