Sustainability
Our Commitment
It has been our philosophy at Ker & Downey to “give back” in ways that are far more personal and powerful than tourism dollars. Indeed, at the heart of Ker & Downey is a desire to make lives better with each trip. Therefore, for every trip booked with Ker & Downey, a portion goes to our in-house philanthropy Ker & Downey for Africa, which support rural communities in Uganda by providing insecticide-treated mosquito nets to fight against malaria and provide medical services to people in need. For some, it is the only doctor they will see all year. Additionally, the company has adopted 24 students who receive financial support for schooling, uniforms, computers, and other needs to support their education through The Ripples Foundation.
We have joined forces with partners like The Grootbos Foundation in South Africa, ABOUTAsia Travel in Cambodia, the Galo Plaza Lasso Foundation in Ecuador, and BrookeUSA in Egypt, among many others, to make an impact in local communities. For every trip booked to specific regions, a portion is donated to these causes which support people, wildlife, conservation, working animals, and education. Read our 2023 Impact Report.
