Pousada de Lisboa - Praca do Comercio

Urban luxury for those who´ve seen it all

Pousada de Lisboa - Praca do Comercio

Portugal’s former Ministry of Internal Affairs carries out diplomacy with aplomb at Pousada de Lisboa. Even the most savvy cosmopolites are caught off guard by its stained glass–backed staircase and the collection of modern art pieces on loan from city museums. Lofty ceilings, dark parquet flooring, and relief plasterwork add an old-world touch to the 90 decidedly contemporary rooms. Taste Cecina and other signature steaks under the restaurant’s vaulted ceilings; the rooftop indoor pool and spa with a sauna elevate your stay.

Hotel Tip

The pousada’s main appeal just may be its prime address on the Praçado Comércio, fronted by the Tagus River. Sip espresso at nearby Café A Brasileira, Lisbon’s oldest café, dating from 1782.

Well situated. The GM very nice and dedicated. Came to talk to us since we had a hick up with the laundry service. The suite we were upgraded to was quite dark. Very poor lighting. Will not recommend that suite to anyone. Suite Dom Perignon.

We enjoyed our stay and found our accommodations to be generally good and staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is well situated in proximity to the old town of Lisbon with many attractions, shops and restaurants in the area. Their signature restaurant, RIB, offered excellent food. The only minor issue is that , as a restored historical property, soundproofing between rooms is a little lacking and could be improved
