Tutka Bay Lodge is at the entrance to a nine-mile fjord at the southern end of Kachemak Bay, near Homer, Alaska. Watch whales and sea otters as eagles soar overhead. Try hiking through a magical old-growth forest or sea kayaking in the bay. In the main lodge, guests gather for cooking classes and award-winning cuisine. The lodge offers guided deep-sea fishing or bear viewing on the Katmai Coast and evening wildlife tours on the bay. Six cozy cabins offer sweeping views and rustic seaside luxury. Tutka Bay offers complimentary yoga, wellness activities, and cooking classes, as well as wine and cheese tastings in its peaceful cove.

Our Commitment
Within the Wild takes sustainability seriously. With only six guest accommodations, the lodge is purposefully kept small and personal, private and sustainable in commitment to the environment. The preservation of culinary history and sustainable food options is fundamental to Tutka Bay Lodge. We believe buying and foraging locally helps reduce our company food print and inspires our guests to take home a similar motivation through our educational programs. Our trips often include visiting artists, farmers, and local native groups. Natural spring water is a precious resource at Tutka Bay. We collect water from a nearby mountain spring into a 44,000-gallon tank for drinking and washing. To further our efforts, we collect rainwater for our property gardens and have high-efficiency washers, showerheads, and toilets. We recycle all aluminum, glass, paper from the lodge, and have eliminated single-use plastics.
