Unbelievably wonderful place! The staff is exceptional--courteous, friendly, accommodating. The instructors are also fantastic--special shout out to David for our aerial yoga session and memorable silent dinner experience. Food and room were both great. I'm planning to return--regularly!

This was an amazing experience. The resort was picturesque, so well planned and thought-out. There were so many programs from which to choose, nothing was left to the imagination - a variety of exercise classes, yoga, meditation and tennis and pickleball. You couldn't ask for anything more! The food was bountiful and delicious. And those hikes were just wonderful. The accomodations were first class. On a scale of 1-10, this was a 15, at least!

Our 2nd visit was even better than the last. We have now booked our stay for next year.
It is both a healthy environment and a life style changer. The food is delightful and different each day. The sit down 4 course dinner is a wonderful way to cap off a busy day. There is so much to do each hour that it is often competition between a new skill vs one you already know.
It is also a great way for a family to bond while doing interesting things. The Ranch is beautiful and the grounds varied and adorned with lovely sculpture as well as plants and flowers. It is a special place and one should definitely try a visit. It might change your life for the better.

Rancho La Puerta: a spa for active people

Other spas are centered on personal beauty. Rancho La Puerta is centered on activities - mountain hikes at sunrise, multiple classes each hour - a non stop whirl - plus tasty and healthy food choices, thoughtful seminars and panels, even movies and local and other music at night. This is not the spa for everyone but for those it fits, they return 10-12-14 times.
Did I say the resort is itself beautiful —mountainous Baja landscape, well maintained and even thought provoking grounds, comfortable and spacious villas. Did I praise the kind and wise staff and instructors? We will go again.

Rustic but Real

This place is not for the posh crowd or super fancy hotel snobs. It's rustic and a bit worn out in places but it is genuine in its intention and execution. The organic garden tour is a highlight. The veggies on the table come right from this gorgeous piece of land. The mountain terrain is great for hiking and the classes and instructors are top notch. Did I mention the food was delicious? It's a special oasis but not for everyone!

We had a great trip with siblings and spouses. Rancho La Puerta has been around for decades, and has found a niche and rhythm with nature that is rare. It's just polished enough for upscale travelers to have what they need, but rustic enough to appeal to those of us who want to enjoy the natural beauty of the area and leave all the hustle and bustle behind for a while. There are so many activities - we could choose the familiar activities that we already know and enjoy, and also try new things that we have not yet experienced. Each day was a new adventure.

I loved it and will return next year. We had a medical emergency during our stay. we are grateful that the staff had a nurse at our casa in a short amount of time.
