Baumaniere le Baux de Provence

Baumaniere le Baux de Provence

Set amidst a backdrop that inspired Cézanne and Van Gogh, Baumanière les Baux de Provence flames gourmand passions with its two-Michelin-star restaurant. (For canvas-worthy views, reserve a table overlooking the gardens.) Locally sourced, seasonal menus are complemented by one of France’s largest wine cellars, and culinary secrets are revealed during intimate cooking classes. The elegant family-run country inn, which dates back to the 17th century, features 54 eclectic rooms ranging from rustic to modern. Mulberry trees in the manicured garden provide shaded sanctuary after a spa treatment.

Hotel Tip

More than 60,000 bottles — including the hotel’s own label, L’Affectif — are at the reserve of head sommelier Gilles Ozello, who leads tastings in the cellar’s tasting room.

Solitude in the Country

It was lovely, though I would say that this is a place is appropriate for those wanting a secluded, quiet country experience. Though families were present, children seemed either very young (sleeping infants) or older (teens) The majority of staff was exemplary and very professional and friendly, though we did have one surprising experience. Lovely property and lovely room, but just may not be the vibe for everyone. We might stay there again, though if we were looking for an adult getaway and peace and quiet.

Superb venue but confusing signage with hotel and restaurant at different sites. Hotel, on-site restaurant, pools all wonderful, relaxing venue. High quality luxury.

Baumaniere de Baux was a resort style hotel which was a lovely change from our gorgeous hotel in Gordes. We enjoyed the patios with each room. The service was excellent, food delicious. A gracious place to stay.

Beautiful Property

Our room was a very comfortable junior suite with far more space than we needed. The bedroom was spacious, the living room was more so. The resort offers lovely gardens, swimming and gazing pools, a Michelin rated restaurant (SO good), play area for children and goats in an immaculate enclosure. The resort’s other restaurant on premises offered a bountiful breakfast. Our stay included a lunch there, as well, with al fresco dining.
