Villa Pliniana by Sereno Hotels
Pliny the Younger once described an unusual, rhythmic water spring on grounds near Lake Como; later, Leonardo da Vinci studied the phenomenon. After an extraordinary villa was built on the grounds in 1573, its owner named it “Villa Pliniana” after the Roman senator. Today, on 18 acres of parkland on the banks of Lake Como, the villa is still splendid. It comprises 19 bedrooms in four spacious apartments (each with kitchen) and three villas. Period furnishings and artworks abound; modernities include an indoor pool and spa, a helisurface and a private boat dock. Perfect for weddings and reunions, the property is rented as a whole.
Hotel TipGuests enjoy privileges at nearby Il Sereno, including access to its private beach and 60-foot-long freshwater infinity pool suspended over the lake.
