Cinematic scenes of France unfold aboard Les Bateaux Belmond’s fleet of seven luxurious river boats, which offer intimate, personalised cruises through Burgundy, Champagne, Canal du Midi, Camargue and Provence. On board these buoyant luxury floating villas, guests are immersed in storied scenery and vibrant nature. They unwind in light, airy cabins with generous windows looking out on the water. Enchanting décor ranges from the sparkling glamour of Coquelicot, which operates in Champagne, to antiques, murals and even a grand piano in other boats. On deck, a plunge pool and sociable spaces invite relaxation, lively conversation and lingering alfresco dining. The crew and guide are seasoned hosts who take care of every need, while the dedicated chef serves up fabulous feasts of local artisanal delicacies. No two days are the same. Tailor-made itineraries capture guests’ tastes while connecting them to the history, landscapes and contemporary culture of each captivating region. From the sun-baked hilltop villages of Provence and the celebrated vineyards of Champagne to the fairytale châteaux of Burgundy, expert-led tours promise active yet relaxed exploration. Unique Belmond experiences include a private lunch on board Coquelicot, curated by the chef and sommelier of Ruinart, the world’s oldest champagne house. Further gastronomic adventures take in Michelin-starred restaurants and oenological outings with prized Grand Cru tastings. Fun for all ages can be enjoyed with market tours, hot-air ballooning, truffle hunts, patisserie workshops, horseriding and canoeing. All-inclusive charters are entirely flexible, catering to every whim and need of the passenger. The boats accommodate between 4 and 12 guests, with the majority available for private charter only. Napoleon, the largest one, is available on a per cabin basis. Three- and six-night cruises are available.
