Sustainability
Our Commitment
At Pikaia Lodge, we embrace a holistic approach to sustainability, integrating social responsibility, environmental efforts, education, and renewable energy. We support local businesses by sourcing from local farmers and fishermen, ensuring economic benefits for the community. Our social initiatives include supporting schools and creating jobs, with a commitment to fair labor practices. Guided tours by naturalists educate guests on the importance of conservation, while our eco-friendly operations focus on waste reduction, water conservation, and energy efficiency.
We participate in reforestation and conservation projects to protect the unique biodiversity of the Galapagos. By investing in renewable energy like solar power, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint. Sustainability is our way of life, dedicated to preserving the Galapagos for future generations while offering luxury and comfort.
Since acquiring its 31 hectares of private land, Pikaia Lodge has planted over 13,000 trees. Our reforestation program invites all guests to actively participate in nurturing the island's unique ecosystem. Our reforested areas have become a thriving habitat for native birds and tortoises.
Year after year, Pikaia Lodge in the Galapagos Islands has actively participated in Pack for a Purpose, enabling us to support the local community. These supplies benefit the nearby schools, providing essential materials for 49 students three times a year.
