All were really in to teaching and conveying their devotion to Antarctica and their particular area of expertise. We are already planning our next adventure with NG!

Galapagos/ Nat Geo 2017

By: Sree

Reviewed on: 23 Jul 2017

National Geographic was on my bucket list for an expedition to the Galapagos. The Islands are amazing and Nat Geo had great programs in place to highlight this ecological paradise. The partnership with Lindblad was a plus. My kids had a blast with the ships young explorers program which was the kind of quality education I expect from Nat Geo. The naturalists were real professionals. The entire team succeeded in making it a memorable trip.

Always the best trip out there if you want history, culture and adventure. We learned so much about the places we visited, were able to hear local musicians play, and went to places that are hard to reach any other way than by a small ship. And - the food and service is beyond compare.

Good trip. Fair amount of driving but most of it is on the autoroutes which are good roads. Going to the south the road is under construction so it is longer. Good representation of the various areas of Morocco. Our private guide, Ali was excellent.

Great guides

Good job in every way. National Geographic has a tendency to over schedule activities, leaving no down time. I believe photographers need a little time each day, or every other day to organize photographs. The only time we have on National Geographic trips is bedtime when we are wiped out from a full day of activities.

National Geographic Expeditions tour of Uganda and Rwanda was amazing. Whilst the main purpose was to see the great Apes, the game drive we did was a real highlight as well. The tour leaders were great and fun to be with and our Nat Geo Expert was a real delight and so informative. Really added to the trip. The trip is extremely busy with not a lot of time to yourself. Accommodations we stayed at were fabulous and all meals were excellent.

One of the Best Trips We Have Ever Taken

By: Andrea

Reviewed on: 30 Jan 2019

The dual narrative Israel trip was fabulous. Our guides (a Palestinian and an Israeli) were superb. The itinerary was fascinating. We went places most people don't go. Hotels were for the most part great. Got exposed to a variety of experts throughout Israel representing both sides of the issues. We took the Jordan extension and I would not recommend. It was very expensive and the guide was terrible....really phoned it in. Petra was terrific, but for the price, you can arrange a separate trip that would include Petra, Wadi Rum, a Bedouin camp, Amman and historical sites between Amman and Wadi Rum, suggest Abercrombie and Kent.

A Good Operator - But Pay Attention

By: Lawyer Mike

Reviewed on: 05 Feb 2019

We recently took a National Geographic Private Expedition with one other couple to Morocco. While we thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and while I would recommend Nat Geo to others, I would advise any user to pay close attention to the details of the trip. The Nat Geo reps did not always point out some of the fine print in the itinerary (such as extensive amounts of time traveling from location to location), and the accommodations where not uniformly of the excellence I would have expected from the tour. That said, depending on the trip, I would likely use National Geographic again.

NatGeo is good as long as you know what's involved

By: Loop

Reviewed on: 27 Feb 2019

National Geographic goes to very interesting places but their trips aren't for people who like to be coddled. While accommodations, logistics, meals, etc. are very good, their trips involve extreme weather, less-than-ideal conditions and an interest in the environment, nature and foreign cultures. It's also best to pay particular attention, during the planning phases of a trip, to the details. National Geographic's staff sometimes skips over them. If, however, the trip is in conjunction with Lindblad, there's less chance of this happening.

This was my second National Geographic trekking trip and I highly recommend them. I've traveled with other companies and it's just not the same. With Nat. Geo. you are assured of getting great guides who know the local history/culture/etc. and I've had bad experiences trekking with others. They make sure accommodations and food are the best possible and you truly feel safe and completely taken care of.

Great way to adventure and learn about Scotland!

By: Art & Raquel

Reviewed on: 21 Oct 2019

We were so impressed with the Nat Geo tour. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and the sights chosen for our hikes and visits were a nice blend of local culture, history and nature. Our initial introduction to the geology and geography of Scotland was so helpful to laying the groundwork for our visit. The hikes were wonderful with beautiful vistas and views. We would have enjoyed slightly more strenuous hikes, but given the range of abilities in our group, Nat Geo did a very balanced job of meeting most of the hikers’ abilities. The only downside was the accommodations in Edinburgh and Oban. The other accommodations at Cuillin Hills and the Fonab were very lovely. The Best Western in Edinburgh was not cleaned and didn’t have towels. The hotel in Oban was very small and my husband and I had separate rooms for the three nights we stayed in Oban.

National Geographic Around the World Private Jet

By: Barbara

Reviewed on: 02 Feb 2020

National Geographic has got to be the world leader in fine logistics and classy, meaningful travel. Getting 70 people around the world in 23 days with stops in 11 countries is very challenging and the pulled it off without a hitch. Their flight crew, flight attendants and NG staff and traveling experts were all perfection. However this is a grueling trip, much more strenuous than the brochure implies and physically punishing on the body to change time zones, elevations and weather to quickly. So beware that the trip is physically challenging but NG goes out of its way to help the slower passengers and to make any accommodations for anyone. They keep you busy and intellectually challenged with busy sightseeing tours and interesting related lectures. Food and drink lovely and plentiful. Camaraderie splendid!
