The Caledonian (Waldorf) is located precisely between New Town and Old Town. Easy walk to everything with great views of the castle from some of the rooms. The staff is excellent, from concierge to the knowledgeable bartenders. My only critique is the hotel is older and going through a refresh and street noise can be a little excessive at times. I would definitely stay here again.

We could not get in our room until nearly 4 p.m or later. The service was just okay. It is very, very expensive, for what you actually get. The breakfast was nice and service was fairly good there. I got the impression that they were short staffed. The location is good and we had a beautiful view of the castle from our room. Would probably stay elsewhere next time.

My wife and I enjoyed three glorious night in a Castle view suite. The hotel is amazing with so much to offer and they take very good care of their guests. The Galvin Brasserie Deluxe and The Pompadour are both fantastic restaurants. We wish we were still there!

The Waldorf is in a great location. It is central to whatever it is you might want to do in Edinburgh. The bar was a hit, as was the breakfast buffet.

Last hotel on a three week trip, after staying in manor homes and castles it seemed huge but the hotel was nice. The concierge was great! A bit disappointed that one afternoon we went to get afternoon tea and they had no more tea cakes at 3:00 pm, they did service us sandwiches off the lunch menu.

Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh provided us with a wonderful stay in their hotel. The staff could not do enough for you. Their service was impeccable. The breakfast buffet had everything you could dream off to start your day and if it wasn't there in the open they would prepare it for you. Evenings, after turn down service, they would leave these delicious boxed chocolates. It was also centrally located to all tourists attractions. Highly recommend!
