Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort

With 15 acres of prime beachfront in one of Hawaii’s most luxurious resort communities, Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort is more a lifestyle than a hotel. Paddle an outrigger, practice sunset yoga, or try a mixology session. Then again, lounging by one of the five ocean-facing pools may be as active as you want to get. The resort’s 301 guest rooms and suites, with 11 luxurious two- to four-bedroom residential villas, offer guests a hideaway, steps from Mokapu Beach. Savor world-class dining at Ka‘ana Kitchen or Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s namesake restaurant, Morimoto Maui. For an apothecary treatment, visit ‘Āwili Spa and Salon.
Hotel Tip
New on the luau scene is Andaz’s intimate Feast at Mokapu, served family style (so no buffet lines!) with a show that alternates between storytelling and dancing. –Nancy Neimann Larkspur, CaliforniaVirtuoso Preferred Supplier Since 01 Apr 2014

The Andaz is Everything!

We booked the Andaz Maui for the final leg of our Honeymoon. We were BLOWN away at how wonderful our room was. It made us sad that we were only there for a couple of nights. We loved the combination of a warm luxury experience with cool modern touches and technology. We loved the personalized check in experiences at the main reception as well as the spa. The pool and beach staff were on point with refreshing chairs and serving F&B (pool side). I only wish there was beach F&B service. We dined at both Restaurants and they were excellent. We loved the juice/smoothie bar at breakfast and the staff was very hospitable. Our server at Morimoto was excellent. I could just go on and on about Andaz Maui. We keep saying we will be back again very soon!

The Andaz hotel is the perfect place to go when you want total relaxation and to be pampered beyond belief. The staff must be treated so well because they are all happy and not only enjoy helping the clients but seem to enjoy their colleagues and job! Kai greeted us, Keri served us breakfast, Kohula the concierge was so helpful, and Allie served us dinner at the Lehua outdoor Lounge, those are just a few the staff members that added to making our time so special. The buffet breakfast is one of the grandest we have ever had and the onsite restaurants, Ka'ana served fabulous farm to table meals. Our poolside meals during the day were delicious and memorable! The rooms are Zen like and the "Rain Shower" was a treat beyond our expectations. From the shower we had a view of the ocean and at times, sunsets. The beach in front of the hotel offered all types of water sports, including a coral reef that lead to amazing snorkeling. We highly recommend a stay at the Andaz!

Fantastic Place; Worth the cost

Our stay on our honeymoon was fantastic and we would love to go back there again some time. It is definitely worth paying the extra money for a partial ocean suite. The villas are a little obstructive of the view of the beach (from the second floor). You can still see the entire ocean; including the waves crashing on the beach; there are just these green flat roofs stretching out beneath that in your sight line. For what is billed as a partial ocean view you are getting a full ocean + Kahalawai. The breakfast buffet at Ka'ana Kitchen is fantastic; moreso if it is included in your room package. Both restaurants (Ka'ana and Morimoto) are great; although Morimoto is very expensive for what you get (its a great meal; but not fantastic/amazing like some other options on Maui in that price bracket and even below). Do the resort activities; add the pay snorkeling. Maid service was a bit spotty at the end of our trip (forgot coffee stuffs; forgot to change towels one day) but not a huge deal.

This resort has a lovely, clean aesthetic and works hard to be serene even though it's a very busy resort in a popular area. The beach is gorgeous, excellent snorkeling in one direction and long beach walk in the other. I was there with spouse and two teens and we ate at pretty much every food venue in the resort during our week and all the food was uniformly excellent. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Loved the spa. Lots of large groups and families but there was one adult only pool in a secluded area that was very quiet so I would say there is an ideal spot for everyone at the Andaz.

Andaz Maui was almost perfect. The pool area, the room, the hotel itself, the beach, the sunset view, the beach access, the spa, and the wailea shuttle to wherever you needed to go was just unbelievably great. The only sort of negatives (but not really negatives to be honest) were the drink/food service while sitting at the pool was lacking. They needed more people working because the two that were were hustling but the pools were full so you had to work to get their attention. The only other suggestion would be a new setup for the breakfast buffet. Where the food was was super random and the hot food was all separated and it was easy to miss things due to just not seeing it because of the setup.

The pool is beautiful with multiple levels of infinity pools looking out over the beach. The pool staff treat each guest like VIPs-- as soon as we picked out chairs there was an attendant to lay our towels and a server with a food and drink menu.
The pool also provides complimentary sunscreen and water to their guests. The grounds are gorgeous as well as the beach. We were able to rent stand up paddle boards one morning complimentary. Another day, we spent just laying at the beach and sea turtles were swimming right there at the shore line-- it was so cool! The hotel also offers complimentary snorkel gear to guests. Also, do not miss the sunsets here because they are unbelievable.
Food-- We did not have a bad meal at this Resort! Morimoto, Kaana Kitchen, even the Pool bar all had amazing food!

I cannot say enough about the Andaz! We actually honeymooned at another hotel in Wailea two years ago and had a great time--we ended up having dinner at the Andaz on our last night of our honeymoon and made a pact to return and stay there.
We stayed at the Andaz on our babymoon and we were blown away!! The rooms are a little sparse compared to some hotels, but, they were plenty big and comfy, the views from the balconies cannot be beat. With so many pools nothing ever felt crowded and it truly felt like a luxury hotel--which it is, of course!
The spa was the best hotel spa I have ever been in--and I know my way around a spa! If you go, ask for Sarah!
The beach was great! Plenty of space, lots of great watersports and we loved the beach concierge. We had the BEST time at an outrigger snorkel tour and would highly recommend to anyone!
We can't wait to go back.

The hotel and amenities at the Andaz were exactly what we wanted for our honeymoon. The number of pools and chairs made us feel like we weren’t staying at a crowded resort where we had to fight for seats. The food and service was incredibly good throughout our stay, with the dinner we had at Ka’ana Kitchen being one of the best ones we had on the entire trip. Staying in Wailea vs Lahaina made getting to and from activities (i.e. Mamas Fish House and Road to Hana) that much more accessible and easy to get to. The luau was a new option the hotel started offering right before we came, but we loved the initiate and unique experience, and the food/drinks were really good as well. All in all, we had a really positive experience at the hotel and will look to come back for future milestones and anniversaries.

I would highly highly recommend staying here if you're going to be on Maui for a few days. It has everything you could ask for in a hotel, but at the same time keeps a very relaxed ambiance. 10/10. I've stayed at a fair amount of nice hotels, and this is the top of the list for me.

Our stay at the Andaz was the perfect ending to an amazing honeymoon. This hotel is great for honeymooners or anyone looking for an upscale adult getaway. The location is perfect for exploring the island of Maui and the amenities at the hotel make for a luxurious vacation. The daily breakfast was delicious!! If you don't stay at the hotel, I highly recommend Ka'Ana Kitchen for breakfast. We ate so much every morning that we often skipped lunch. If we go back to Maui we will be staying at this hotel! If you go to the Pool Bar you must have a lobster grilled cheese and pina colada!

It was good. We liked it — excellent service. A unique style of decor that may not be appealing to everyone. Very understated and minimalistic. Main restaurant was fine but food options outside of that somewhat limited. Very easy to navigate — never crowded at pool area. Beach front small but worked. Our accommodations, a one bedroom suite was great — very large and comfortable. We visited other properties in area and although we didn’t see rooms, we concluded that based upon common areas, we’d rank Four Seasons #1, and Andaz #2. Would go there again.
