    Great location and staff helpful

The hotel had a good location. Loved the 6th floor outside patio area for drinks. On weekends it is very popular and hotel guests are put on a waiting list to get in. There was no other nice area for late nite cocktails. Overall a nice hotel.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we found the service and courtesy exceptional. The food in the restaurant was beyond reproach and the service was wonderful. We have put this hotel on our list of "must return" places. The location makes for easy walking around some of the nicest places in Lisbon.

    Great location.

Classic hotel close to the old part of the city. Sits across from a square filled with restaurants and shops. Staff was very friendly and responsive. The breakfast buffet, which was included, was well stocked and had items made to order. Rooms were fine with tall ceilings. Might take note that the bar area can get a little smokey but you are in Europe.

    Great service, good accomodations

We stayed here for 3 nights on the second leg of our honeymoon. First, the service was nothing but a pleasure. The front desk staff / concierge was knowledgeable and friendly. In addition, the service staff were nothing but polite and always seemingly happy to see us. The location is fantastic. It overlooks a popular square and is close to just about everything. It also has a great view of the Guadalquivir River. The accommodation itself was nice, but nothing out of this world. The bed was comfortable, the walls/windows well insulated, and the decor very chic and welcoming. The downside of the hotel comes with the bathroom logistics. The light switch is outside the room, which resulted in several middle of the night awakenings by a bright flash of light. In addition, the bathroom is not very sound-suppressant. Showers, running water, toilets flushing, etc. will not be good for light sleepers. However, the water pressure, towel warmers, and bathtub size were a nice surprise.

Very good hotel. Were glad we used the Virtuoso amenity of their gourmet dinner. Although ambiance of the restaurant may not be the best, the food was wonderful and stacks up against the best we've had.

Excellent. Hotel was a delight. The staff was outstanding. Perhaps the highlight of our stay was the Virtuoso Portuguese dinner followed by Port on the rooftop terrace. We reserved a corner room on the fourth floor.

Small unique 5 Star hotel. Spacious rooms, very good restaurant, great service, in a wonderful location in the city. For us it was the perfect place to wind down after more than a week cruising. Would go back in a minute.

The Bairro Alto Hotel was a pleasant surprise. The suite was very spacious and nicely appointed. The Staff couldn't have been any nicer, and very helpful in steering us in the right direction. The location is great, and if we were to return to Lisbon we would definitely stay again at The Bairro Alto Hotel.

Ideally located in the center of the city. The area is noisy but the hotel has soundproof windows which totally block out the noise. Hotel is starting a major renovation and expansion. The staff was extremely helpful and nice.

BAH is the epitome of great service. It is being refurbished for the year right now. When done it will be larger - but the size won't matter. This Virtuoso hotel was geared to please the customer. They succeeded in satisfying our every wish both completely and immediately. It is the place to stay in Lisbon!
