Terranea Resort is a beautiful place and we had absolutely perfect weather to enjoy the environs and the sea. The only thing lacking was some Christmas spirit--no music or lobby activities to celebrate the season. The huge tree outside was great and right outside our balcony to enjoy day and lit up at night.
The holiday buffet was terrific and we all enjoyed having our meals outdoors in the warm and wonderful sunshine.

5 star service all around, amazing food, best spa massage we have ever had, most beautiful scenery and landscaping, best service ever, amazing staff, so relaxing, beautiful.

We were very pleasantly surprised by Terranea Resort, and went at the suggestion of our travel planner, Polly Bade. The resort was meticulous and welcoming. The lobby was so conducive to sitting and relaxing by the fire, but the rooms were also very comfortable. However, it was the service that absolutely blew us away. Every staff member we interacted with was amazing, including the restaurant staff and housekeepers. We could have been at a Four Seasons it was so indulgent. The food was also extremely impressive - we did not have a bad meal there!
To me, this resort is under the radar for how amazing it was. The pools were great, the views a million dollars and the property fabulous. We would go back without any hesitation.

The Terrenea Resort exceeded my expectations for a beautiful and inspirational retreat. The resort location is perfect on the Pacific Coast and includes a hiking trail along the property. The spa is an absolute wonderful retreat! I had two exceptional classes with Jose – Yoga and Tai Chi and the most memorable conversation. The spa services were unique and the signature service are offered in an ocean view room. The sounds of the waves crashing complimented this relaxing service. The Casita room was extraordinary and I didn’t want to leave it. Finally, the food was delicious, fresh and healthy. It was an experience that I will always remember!

Nice experience. Excellent service with a smile from all employees. Beautiful facilities. Location is somewhat isolated but that is also what makes it a peaceful destination. It does get noticeably more busy on weekends.

very high end resort. helpful and service oriented employees. terrific swimming pools with food available, great 9 hole par 3 golf course; good location on the ocean and convenient from LA; good variety of restaurants--food was good, not terrific, but we did not eat at the resort's top restaurant.

Extremely relaxing and lovely. Plenty of restaurants within the resort so you never have to leave. Good gym with a variety of classes overlooking the coast. Beautiful spa and pool amenities. Very friendly staff.

Terranea used to be a wonderful resort that was beautiful, fun with a great vibe. It’s been a few years since my last visit. The resort sits on a beautiful property. Unfortunately the resort was not as nice as it used to be. Also because of Covid all restaurants and bars and fire pits were closed at 9!!!! What are you supposed to do then?? The best thing about the resort is the spa facilities and spa pool.

This resort is overwhelming at first, especially if you are not from California! It is truly unique in its expansiveness along the Pacific Coastal Zone. It is also very important to note that visiting anywhere during a pandemic can be challenging. All the people working at Terranea did their best to make our stay enjoyable. Restaurants served delicious food; all the pools on site were beautiful to swim in! Walking trails along the coast allowed all to take in the coastal views and appreciate the landscaping.

The stunning views, pools, spa and delicious food make Terranea a dream getaway. We loved that the hiking trails connect directly to city/state park trails. You can walk out of the resort and hike for miles along the beautiful bluffs. We definitely plan to return!

We loved everything about the resort - the food was excellent, our room was comfortable and quiet, service was impeccable and the choices were endless. You could choose to be active every minute, or just lounge and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Definitely a very special place...

I would recommend La Terranea. Service, food, resort are all really nice. It is a bit secluded, so a car could be helpful if you want to leave the resort. Hedy is wonderful, always checking it to make sure everything is ok with transportation and the resort. We would go to La Terranea again, nice for a family!

What a georgeous place to visit, but unfortunately it was very crowded the weekend I visited due to a big wedding set up, where a huge tent was erected on the property and I had to listen to hammering instead of enjoying the sounds of the waves and nature during day. When I opted to chill out at the adult pool I was looking for relief from noise and was bombarded with blasting music. I went to Terranea to relax, but that was difficult to do, although the place is georgeous and has lots of potential- the place should keep the individual Traveller in mind as well.

We celebrated our 50th Anniversary at Terranea Resort. It was the perfect place to take time to appreciate our life and our blessings. The beauty of nature set the tone as we were treated to crashing waves to lull us to sleep, long walks along the gorgeous coastline and the many hiking trails to fill our senses. The resort staff, to a member, were beyond helpful and promptly responded to any request with a smile! The dining experiences were delightful and it was a treat to be able to enjoy live music. It was wonderful to experience the architectural beauty of this resort and enjoy several of the many the activities available. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is a beautiful property. The views are stunning and the ease of hiking is great. The staff were helpful and appropriate, and room was very comfortable and clean with a lovely sunset view.
Lively crowd in the evenings, and a couple of large weddings.
The food was spotty. Offerings for a smaller breakfast other than brunch on the weekend were very limited, and the preparation/quality was inconsistent. I ate at 4 places at the resort--two were good, one okay, and the other disappointing. I think that when there are large events (the weddings), it may strain staff.
If you are looking for a nice event venue, this is a beautiful spot. For a quiet stay, I would choose differently next time.

Hotel Terranea sits on a cliff in Palo Verdes, CA. It is an absolutely stunning view! The resort has 2 pools, a spa, restaurants, live music and a small hiking trail around the property. It is a great spot. I feel it suits families and work trips the best. If you are looking for a romantic getaway as couple, you may not escape the family atmosphere at this resort. That would be my only suggestion when picking Hotel Terranea.

Since I first went to Costa Rica in 2018, I knew I wanted to host a life story writing retreat there, and Paula helped me fulfill that dream. It was an involved process, arranging the hotels, meals, transfers, excursions, and guides for a full week—lots of details and moving parts—but it went off without a hitch. Azurom did an amazing job of placing us in the best over the water bungalow of the resort. The bungalow was well appointed, beautiful with a deck that faced the ocean and Tahiti. The deck had steps leading to a lower deck with stairs for snorkeling. We snorkeled each day admiring endless coral formations and the stunning tropical life in crystal clear waters.
Breakfast was included which was very good. We felt our lunch and dinners were a bit more expensive than anticipated. Their signature restaurant “K” was exceptional. Snorkel gear was free to use. The infinity pool was just heavenly. Staff was generally nice, the “French” influence charming.

The resort is beautiful and well-maintained, with incredible views of the Pacific, and maybe a whale or two! Our Casita was spacious and comfortable, the hiking, pools, and activities were fulfilling, and the food at all on-site restaurants was delicious. Terranea is on our short-list of resorts to return to in the greater LA area!

- Terranea is dedicated to protecting the valuable coastal resources that define its pristine, natural surroundings. Terranea has remained committed to minimizing its environmental footprint by integrating transparent eco-friendly practices throughout the resort.
- The resort enacted a food waste recycling program, supporting the resort’s “20/20/20” goal, a pledge to reduce energy and water usage by 20% and send only 20% of its total waste to the landfill, all by the year 2020.
- The resort’s partially consumed, wholly usable toiletries left in guestrooms are donated to the Midnight Mission (nearly 300lbs in 1 month!). The resort also collaborates with Chefs to End Hunger to redistributes prepared food to local food agencies serving meals to those in need.
- The resort was named the Platinum Adrian Award winner for Leader in Sustainable Tourism by National Geographic and HSMAI. The resort also earned the California Hotel & Lodging Association’s Award for Good Earth keeping.
