The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel

The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel

Such icons as Louis Armstrong once played in the opulent Blue Room at The Roosevelt New Orleans. It’s a wonderful world for anyone staying at this hotel after a $175-million-dollar, art-deco restoration. The Roosevelt is just off Canal Street, a block from the French Quarter. The Waldorf Astoria Spa, rooftop pool and garden terrace all offer an urban oasis. Chef John Besh's award-winning Domenica restaurant presents a fine touch of Italy, while Teddy's Café is reminiscent of a Parisian patisserie. All Virtuoso guests receive Personal Concierge treatment from the in-house Personal Concierge team, to make their stay truly bespoke.

Hotel Tip

Try the famous Sazerac Bar’s namesake cocktail; it’s said to be the world’s first mixed drink, and it’s been designated the official cocktail of New Orleans.

A great place to stay while visiting NOLA! Great rooms, location that is close to the French Quarter!

a Grande Old Dame

A great grande hotel with a lot of history.  Good location. The Sazerac is one of the best bars in New Orleans in our opinion.  Great atmosphere, not too loud yet great music in the background.  An air of sophistication yet you can relax and have a laugh.  A shout out to our favorite bartender Johnny!!  You made our stay special and fun.We stayed in a King deluxe suite however it seemed small and cramp. The rooms could use some upgrading, a little on the drab/old side.  the bathroom was very small and no tub!  The toilet was crammed up against the shower glass door and one had to sit side saddle.  The bed was however comfortable. The service was great.  It was my 50th birthday and the desk sent up a bottle of champagne with cake and a card signed by the staff! Very nice touch. We would stay there again.

Gorgeous Hotel

The Roosevelt Waldorf Astoria Hotel was absolutely gorgeous. Their lobby was stunning, their rooms were spacious and oh-so-comfy. The staff made sure we were taken care of every chance they got. We had our very own concierge at the hotel, which was an amazing added bonus. Their workout facility was great...they even have free bottled water, fruit, and headphones for you to use on their state-of-the-art treadmills and elliptical machines (which each had their own TV mounted to them). Their rooftop pool was wonderful, but make sure you get there early for a chance to get some lounge chairs. Everything was wonderful.

We will always reside at The Roosevelt when is NOLA. I love hotels that played a significant role in American history, have classy and luxurious appointments, excellent food, excellent beds and professional friendly staff. We started our visit in another hotel, Omni Royal Gardens, which proved to be awful. For virtually the same price, this was a major upgrade and we will always choose the hotel where Huey Long, the famous governor of the state managed his creatively corrupt regime while enjoying Sazerac cocktails in the gorgeous bar.
