Nayarit’s current government’s objective is to include the diverse tourism offerings found in the state to its infrastructure and provide all member of the state of Nayarit with the benefits of local, national, and international visitors.

Headed by Dr. Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero, and its commitment to explore alternatives to mass tourism and the integral development of the state’s sustainable rural tourism, ecological tourism, and theme-based routes tourism.

Travel and tourism campaigns in Nayarit have expanded to include the colonial towns of the Sierra Madre, the communities of the Huichol Indians, the ecological areas of Isla Marias and Marrietas and the 150 miles of beaches in the Riviera Nayarit. The government has focused on providing small business training to residents, providing international standard training to tour operators, hoteliers, police, taxi drivers and DMCs, making tourism a valuable asset — especially to smaller communities.
