SLS South Beach

SLS South Beach

Designed by creative icon Philippe Starck, SLS South Beach imparts a “dream world” theme, blending Latin, Asian, contemporary and art deco influences with captivating precision. The 140 exquisitely designed guestrooms and villas are pure romance, with trompe l’oeil French paneling and playful ceiling mirrors. Dine at the extraordinary Bazaar restaurant with James Beard award–winning Chef José Andrés at the helm, or at Katsuya, where traditional Japanese cuisine is infused with a provocative twist. It’s a day-to-night party at Hyde Beach, a sophisticated hybrid of swimming pools, cabanas, beach and indoor/outdoor spaces.

Where everyone who want to be cool goes.........

if you are looking for a hip cool place to party in South Beach this is the place..........but I can tell you it is No Ritz Carlton or Four Season.  It is Cool like the W Times Square........but is definitely not refined and friendly like the One and Only Ocean Club in The Bahamas.  Stay some place else, but go to dinner or have a cocktail at the sushi place within the hotel it is a winner the lobster dynamite was over the top good.

The SLS is our favorite boutique hotel now. It is the most unique and hippest place in the neighborhood. We will definitely be going back.

Surprise- No Closet!

We arrived early but luckily our travel advisor had contacted the hotel to see if we could get an early check-in. Thankfully the room was ready and it was only 10am! Fernando the conciege even welcomed us. The room was a premiere ocean view double- the view is wonderful but the room is small and does not have a closet. There is a stand which contains a mini fridge and 2 drawers- one is only half a drawer because of the safe location- and small side rack with a few hangers. Robes and slippers are supplied. The bathroom contains a large rain shower, small sink and toilet. The staff were warm and welcoming. The service at the beach was excellent- we were asked several times if we wanted food or beverages. The pool is large and beautiful- love the rubber duck! The location is a huge plus- walking distance to everything and if you don't feel like walking a car service is available if it is within close proximity to the hotel. Pack light and spend your time at the pool or beach!

Rooms are really small and crowded. It’s a fun hotel with a great vibe but it’s super noisy during Art Basel if you like it that way. The staff is lovely. They are very hospitable and attentive.

Probably was unnecessary to stay on the beach resort and could have stayed a block or two away and saved some money,,, since the point was not to stay in the room..
