This was one of the most enjoyable cruises we have ever taken. It was our first time sailing with Azamara Club Cruise and all our expectations were exceeded, excellent cuisine and wines, outstanding crew and service, very warm hospitatility and most important the Azamara Quest was a very clean ship. The 12 nights Route of Wine Traders docked and overnighted in some fantastic ports. The Azamazing Evening in Bordaux was great. We will definately cruise with Azamara again.

What a pleasure to be aboard Azamara! The atmosphere was so relaxed without the usual relentless hyperbole and constant pressure to buy extras. The "all-inclusive" model works so well for us and the informal dining paradigms are so welcome. We were entirely shielded from the distractions of the real world that we had no cares whatever on board. The early arrivals and late stays meant even more relaxation since we didn't have to rush at anything. All in all an experience that we recommend to others and want to repeat some day.

Just a wonderful adventure thanks to Marian's planning and ability to communicate effectively with travelers who live in 3 different cities. We loved staying at the citizenM hotel in Paris before taking a train to the Normandy area where our party of 5 rented a car, stayed in a home on Utah Beach, and took day trips to various WWII sites. From there we stayed at a fantastic apartment in the heart of Paris for 3 nights before taking high-speed rail to Nice and boarding the Azamara Quest that never disappoints. One highlight of our journey was our stop in Lisbon/Sintra where we took a private tour from a local guide who grew up in the area. We were able to experience the area from a local's perspective. We will definitely return to Portugal and explore the diversity of the area surrounding Lisbon and Sintra. Thanks again to Marian for putting together such a marvelous trip for our group. It went off without a hitch, and absolutely nailed one of our traveling companions bucket

We had sailed on the Quest in September 2014 when we met Captain Carl, so it was a pleasure to do so again for this holiday. Captain Carl is a likeable and competent Captain who is happy to attend events, introduce his team and explain what he is doing with the ship ahead of arriving in each port and also when leaving them to let us know what to expect on the next leg of the trip. The Quest is big enough to have all the facilities we require and yet small enough to dock close into the centre of St. Petersburg and Helsinki where other, larger ships are unable to do that, giving their passengers longer coach trips in. Quality of food is very high and the deck 5 restaurant was well able to cope with my wife's complex dietary requirements. Cabin crew were pleased to look after our cabin and always make it a pleasure to return to after a busy day's sightseeing. Only gripe would be the intermittent quality and high cost of internet services, but overall a great ship.

Do you think that cruising is all about traveling to different locations? If so, just guess again. After many years of cruising, we have been almost everywhere - at least everywhere on our "bucket list." Now, we find that we enjoy staying on the ship when everyone else goes ashore. I always tell people who ask why we do this that "We cruise for the crew and the ship!" Cruising on an Azamara ship means that you are treated like royalty. The family environment is one of the most important things we enjoy. Getting to know the Captain, officers, and crew is an asset. Being able to keep in touch on Facebook makes it seem as we are still cruising right along with them. They are truly our Azamazing Azamara Family!

Loved the smaller ship just under 700 passengers. We choose this cruise because of the itenerary that included New Orleans, 3 days and Havana, 2 days. Food and service in all venues was excellent. Being almost all inclusive we found that we drank more than normal. Can't say if that was good or bad. Our cabin was a inside, small but the exact same size as a veranda. Comfortable, very clean and kept that way. Could have used additional wall hooks. The bath room was tiny but again the exact same size as a veranda. We know the sizes as we were offered a upgrade on the second day so we visited the veranda cabin. Additional $1500 for a tiny veranda. No thanks. We did not particularly care for the open seating concept, just us, but we prefer to have a table with table mates and the same servers for dinner. Open seating was like Groundhog Day, introducing yourself every night same questions etc. We loved the itenerary but felt the the cost to value was not that great.

Went to a 7 night ...4 night...and 8 night due to Cuba becoming available . We found that this changed the dynamics of an Azamara cruise. In particular the 4 nighter was not up to the usual Azamara feel !! Officers and crew were exceptional as always but the rest of the fuzzy feeling was not there ! We also felt a bit of this in the 1 st cruise and also the 3 rd cruise. We had a good time but just not as great as all our other cruises. Something was missing !! Hopefully this was just the itineraries that lead to such a different Azamara the we are used to ?

After having travelled on four other cruise lines, my husband and I have found Azamara to be the best and most comfortable of them all. The price is right, the ships are beautiful, the food is delicious and plentiful, but it is the superior service and friendly staff that sets an Azamara cruise above all the others that we have experienced. They attended to our every need with grace and hospitality. Many times we felt as though we had the whole ship to ourselves. The staterooms and common areas are nicely configured so we never felt crowded with the other 686 passengers. It was easy to secure reservations in the two specialty restaurants where the food was rxceptionally good. Going on an all-inclusive cruise makes it a very relaxing trip without being nickel-and-dimed at every turn. We look forward to planning another trip with Azamara Cruise Lines.

Cuba March 2018

My first time on this line. Overall was very pleased. Though not in the same league as Seabourn or Crystal, lines I often cruise with, we were really going for the destination this time. The room was comfortable and well laid-out, the staff was terrific from the stewards to the super-gregarious captain, and I appreciated the port-intensive nature of the trip. The Aza mazing evening in Santiago de Cuba, involving a trip to hear choral groups, jazz ensembles and a folk troupe, was a real highlight of the voyage. The food was certainly fine, and in some instances great, but there was no wow factor to the dining experience, neither in the food or the venues. My only other complaint is that one of the nice public areas was often crowded with jewelry displays and art sales. I know this is a great source of revenue for ships like this, but I find it annoying.

Most aspects of the cruise were fine. The ship is nice there were no crowds, and the service was very good. The food was not great, nowhere near that provided by Oceania and Regent, but the cost was significantly less as well. The included alcohol was fine. My complant is that when we booked a suite, the description that came with it was unlimited access to the premium restaurants. But when I tried to book reservations about two hours after boarding I was told that the only available times were early or late. Yet when we went to an early booking we found the retaurant to be half empty and it remained so for the two or so hours we were there. Clearly they were reserving space for people willing to pay $30/head. Later in the trip when I complained about this practice I got a call from a manager who, upon learning we would not attend our late reservation offered me an earlier one (which I refused). It's too bad that this happened because otherwise the cruise experience was very nice.

This was our 10th cruise, 1st on Azamara, and I can't say enough about the ship. We've never sailed in a small ship before, and I found the layout very simple. We were on deck 6 near the aft elevators, one deck up from the main dining room and 3 decks down from the buffet. But even when we wanted to go to the front of the ship, it was only a short walk. The meals in the dining room were wonderful. The buffet was your typical assortment of foods, and we ate lunch at the Patio (poolside grill) a lot. We only tried the buffet for dinner on the Azamazing Evening, but most nights they had a theme buffet, such as Asian, Latin American, Italian, etc. The crew was also the most friendly I've ever dealt with. Everyone was always helpful, smiling, and eager to please. One negative was the décor in the cabin. The wall paper was dark gray, which made the room rather gloomy.

Cuba is a fascinating place-and we were grateful to have the opportunity to visit-but don't expect San Juan. The city of Havana has limited restoration of colonial buildings and still much damage from the hurricane. In spite of that there is much music and dancing and the people seem to be happy. The cities of Santiago and Trinidad had much more tourist infrastructure. There were many more restored buildings and facilities for tourists. We learned much more of the history of the country there and the people seemed to have more local pride. We enjoyed the extended time in ports to really get a feel for the island. We also really enjoyed the ship. The food in the dining room was excellent, the crew was fantastic and the extra activities (White night and Azamazing evening) were really special. I thought the evening entertainment was OK but not great. I did think the jazz combo with the singer, and the piano player is the bar were both excellent. I thought the general communication was poor. The cruise director was leaving so he was never around. On all other ships the cruise director is a very visible cheerleader and that was lacking. I thought all the excursions were great except the last one we took in Portofino which was mostly free time in two different spots. Excursions do not need an hour and a half of free time (which we had in Slovenia) in a tiny town. Also, I thought the excursions were very expensive. I would probably not take another Azmara cruise.

Daniel (head man in Dining areas?) was especially courteous and helpful each time we saw him. Our stateroom attendant, Giri, was there for whatever we needed. The FOOD: The main dining room (Discoveries on 5th floor) was so good that we never made it to the specialty restaurants. Every dish we tried was superb, well cooked and flavored perfectly. Breakfast buffet was a family favorite and even the specialty buffets were filled with great food. One Complaint: My son shared his cabin with 2 others and had to sleep on a so-called "sofa-bed". In reality, it was a platform with cushions and not sufficient for a adult to sleep restfully.

Free drinks is good, but only if one is a drinker! Entertainment was so so. No much variety. Even the Cruise Director and Assistant Cruise Director was featured on different nights as part of the entertainment. Ship went into retro-fit in Singapore, which started on the day we arrived in Singapore. Although the casino was not in operation, the workers started to removed the equipment while we were in port. Not too sure that it was worth the extra cost.

A wonderful itenerary, and a very good staff as always. The A/C failure at the start of the cruise was resolved, and the compensation was better than expected. The Quest is good, but the Journey is our first choice. Azamara is still our "go to" cruise line.

This was our first time on Azamara after being spoiled by Crystal, Silversea, Regent, and Seaborne over the past years. We were pleasantly surprised by our very roomy Suite with its recent contemporary renovation. Crew were friendly and always helpful. Perhaps the only complaint was the need to buy a (reasonably priced) drinks package to get drinkable wine and decent spirits. All first world problems........! We will come back to Azamara.

It was great getting back on a Renaissance ship, changes were made for the better. Who needs a small casino when they replaced it with a grand piano bar. Their employees have a excellent life on the ship and it shows in their attitude to everyone. I hope we can match up our desires with their schedule.

The Quest is a small ship. This makes it easy to get around and not difficult to find all the find a place to relax and meet other people. The staff is exceptional. Always willing to assist in any way they can. My one complaint was the chairs in the dining room were too low for short people. I commented on this to the waiter and two minutes later there was a pillow behind my back to solve the problem.

What a great vacation. The cruise was absolutely amazing, and the shore excursions were fabulous. The last day, our ship connected to a smaller boat to sail up close to the Hubbard Glacier, and that was truly awe inspiring and one of the most beautiful things I have EVER seen! The ship was great although there were some places that needed either paint and/or a face lift. The food was delicious in the main dining room with great service and reasonable "house" wines and very good "upgrade" wines. The buffet food was very good if that's how you wished to handle your meals. My room was lovely and more than perfect for just me. I would definitely sail with Azamara again

The ship met our expectations. The staff were friendly the food delicious .My husband and I ate mainly at the buffet due to the variety. We enjoyed the relaxed environment. As we enjoy a glass of wine with dinner the cost was inclusive which we appreciated. The shore excursions were very expensive and ???? value.

Cruise itinerary was changed twice because of typhoon avoidance. Ship's Captain made decisions early and communicated the decisions well. Tour Excursion staff did an excellent job setting up good tours in the two new ports. We like the lack of formal dress nights. We did not get to experience the Az-Amazing Night because we did not go into Shanghai. Azamara adequately compensated us for the missed ports.

Every cruise I write a blog for family and friends. I include the intro and the end. Here we are again, getting ready for another cruise― which seemed a lot better idea in May when we booked, than on Monday at 7 a.m. when we left Ottawa. My cruising buddy, Margaret, and I are presently in Hong Kong, yes, the home of unlimited shopping and rubber bullets, spending a couple of days visiting before sailing off to Taiwan, Manila and a couple of other ports before heading back to HK and flying home on Oct. 16. Or not. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019 Getting Along in Hong Kong For anyone unconscious for the last four months, there have been riots in Hong Kong every weekend since July and the violence and uproar get worse every weekend. We kept hoping that someone – cruise line, Air Canada, Canadian government – would cancel, but clearly no saner head prevailed. For a cruise we had first not expected to sail and then hoped that it wouldn’t, it actually turned out really well.

Like others on the ship we felt that the shortcomings came from head office. I would only consider them if they had a unique itinerary and the price was right.

We love AZ for the relaxed unpretentious feel and friendliness of staff and passengers. However it is beginning to look a little tired and in need of a face lift. Organization for departure early was disappointing as we had given our information and said we were not with a large group but confusion still resulted. This is not what we have seen on other cruises of AZ. The ports were very good service great in other areas and food good.
