We have enjoyed every cruise on Princess we've taken

This is our second cruise. Cruising is a very efficient and cost efficient way to travel. Everything went off as promised and planned. We had a great time aboard and ashore. My only complaint (and it is against me) is the over-eating; the atmosphere that is present encourages it, but the doing is on me. Food was great, shows were fun, and the crew was helpful, courteous, and well-disciplined--they were great. My next trip will be a land adventure but future cruises are on the horizon.

I always use Doria when making travel plans whether it be a land tour or a cruise. She is great. I have recommended her to many of my friends.

Poor food quality and service
Reviewed on: 04 Sep 2014
The quality of the food at the open buffet was okay at best. The specialty dining and evening dinners were better but poor compared to other cruise line experiences. We felt most, but not all staff, were not outgoing, friendly or accommodating especially when asking for sodas (which were purchased as part of a package). We were on a cruise from Saturday to Saturday. Beginning Thursday afternoon through Friday evening, it was difficult to find any staff. It seemed as though everyone was getting ready for the next cruise.] This was our first cruise on Princess. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing.
Fun and Relaxing!

The Golden Princess cruise was great! It is especially great for 1st time cruisers. The ship has a lot to offer and has a lot of fun activities planned while you are on board. We were on our honeymoon so we wanted a more relaxed trip, so we lounged by the pools, ate all day and even had a couples massage! It was great! We were able to book a mini suite with a balcony which I definitely recommend, that really made the trip for us! Being able to sit out on your balcony and see the ocean is great, especially if you want more quiet time then out by the pool! I would definitely take this cruise again and recommend it to my friends and family!

Had a wonderful cruise despite problems with American Airlines changing flights at last minute! Had to cancel stay-over in Buenos Aires (cancel hotel) to depart at midnight..... Overall, we did enjoy our adventures both onboard Golden Princess and on our own excursions. Met many lovely people from Canada, Australia, England, Chili, and of course, Chicago! Plan to stay in touch and perhaps visit them (or visa versa.) We celebrated our anniversary with the Captain and crew who sent champagne to our suite. Lovely! Thank you for your $20. gift toward wine. We shared it with new friends. We would like very much to plan a trip to Australia and Asia some day.....

We had a great vacation. Everything went very smooth. Transfers from airport to hotel, hotel to ship and ship to hotel. Tour guides were friendly and helpful. Overall it was a wonderful experience, cruise, flight and hotels. Would definitely recommend it.

Our accommodations were fine. Knit, our room steward, was great. Service in the dining room was slower than on most cruises, but was acceptable. We spent part of every evening in the Promenade Lounge with "A Girl Named Jake" -- absolutely fabulous. Enjoyed Ric Steele. the magician, and the Princess band was great -- some drummer! Since the weather was perfect -- warm and no rain -- a plus. We really liked the itinerary and our excursions were outstanding. Whale watching, White Pass train, Saxman Totem Village, and Butchart Gardens

Pools were often being repaired and therefore unavailable, otherwise service was ordinary, nothing outstanding except in the speciality restaurants. Crew seemed tired out

Thorough professional service and excellent support during all phases prior to start of cruise. Will certainly recommend to others to use Cruise Specialists through Diane Ritchey.
New Zealand Cruise

We have sailed with Princess many times and have not been disappointed. Our waiter and assistant waiter in the dining room were warm and friendly. They made us feel special. We were not able to visit all the ports of call due to inclement weather but Princess promised to give us a future cruise credit of 20 percent of our cruise fare. That seems very fair to us.

We had the most fabulous Captain we have ever had in our 24 cruises with Princess and 10 other cruise lines. He was available to interact with the passengers and kept us Informed on all unforseened happenings on board. The food was great and service was wonderful.

Staff were excellent, except for a few female staff behind the customer service desk whose manner of speaking was not to my liking. Officers were rarely seen and didn't make eye contact as they walked past you. Cruise Director was a delightful Brazilian who was happy to take feedback. Cabin comfortable, food ok but too many people of board and many somewhat old and slow - certainly a 'granny cruise'! Very hard to find somewhere to sit for coffee if you were near the International Café and not a lot to entertain me during the day, especially on sea days. Unhosted events (such as Service Clubs) were not helpful as you didn't know who to connect with in the meeting places. Entertainment in the evening good. It was a cheap cruise and you only get what you pay for.
Cruise to New Guinea and New Caledonia

My sister and I had a great time. Aussies and New Zealanders are boon companions. There were only 6 Americans on board and we never met the other 4. Productions shows were excellent. Other acts okay. Food plentiful and tasty. Having reached Elite status I enjoyed the perks, like a stocked fridge and free laundry. Would have been nice if a priest were on board to say Mass since all the passengers we met were Catholic. Port lecturer excellent, but would have enjoyed more talks and more activities since we had five full days at sea.

Islands in the South Pacific
Reviewed on: 12 Dec 2017
Of course, we enjoyed our cruise - who wouldn't like cruising to some beautiful island ports in the South Pacific? That said, why did we select our specific cruise? It was the itinerary. We wanted to sample the islands and our "Fiji and the South Pacific" cruise was the perfect sampling. We were taken with the focus of the cruise in one area of the world. It enabled us to enjoy the sameness and the differences of the various places. Yes, we would do another cruise in the South Pacific but would like to experience other islands and ports of call!
Golden Princess Showing Her Age
By: Nancy Reeves

We sailed in Club Class on the Golden Princess for 13 days from Melbourne to both islands of New Zealand, returning to Melbourne. We missed Fiordland National Park because of severe weather, which we can't blame on Princess. We missed Auckland because the ship said it had an engine issue and didn't have the power to make it to Auckland to dock. Missing those two ports meant we had a total of 8 sea days out of a 13 day trip. Too many days of ships promotions/sales. The ship is starting to show its age. Not so much with the interior, but the railings and balconies needed rust removal and paint. We booked Club Class, which is a wonderful option that lets you dine at any time you want in a designated section of the dining room, without the wait of Anytime Dining. Club Class is also supposed to have additional items on the menu, but we didn't experience that. All the service onboard was great, but the food was the worst we have ever had. Even Sabatini's disappointed this time.
