Found some of excursions pricey.. Disappointed that we didn't see calving of icebergs or more whales. Scenery was lovely. Mountains reminded us of our Rockies back in Canada..Alaska had been on our "bucket list" . Happy we had a chance to have made this trip. Always a pleasure travelling with Celebrity.......our favourite cruise line.A special mention about Giovanni Domael our waiter in dining room and his assistant. Wonderful service and very obliging. Our trip got off on a rocky start after a five hour delay at the airport. We had to board our ship without any luggage and my travel mate did not have her passport. We had to go for two and a half days without our clothing. Lucky, the other travel mate had clothing that she did share with us. Once on board, we wer directed to speak with Karen in Guset relations. Karen took really good care of us. She made us feel welcome along with the other memebers of the Celebrity Solistice ship. Our Butler, Edwin was wonderful, he paid close attention to details. He made us feel like we were the only people on the ship. I have taken several cruises but, I think that this cruise ship was the best cruise I have every taken. If and when I do cruise again, I will consider Celebrity Solistsice

just the right size! I would seek out this ship when planning my next cruise. My only disappointment is that they use performers to teach ballroom dance rather than professionals. No other cruise that I've taken does this. The lack of teaching and ballroom dance knowledge was obvious. Otherwise food, service, staff and accommodations were superior. Large cabin bathroom was really appreciated!

I enjoyed the ship on this cruise more than any ship I've sailed on, even other Celebrity ships. I give everything 5 starts, except for my Spa experience. I was scheduled for a 50 minute Swedish massage. Of course, these are not cheap on a cruise ship. I was called back 10 minutes late and she quit 10 minutes early. This meant my 50 minute massage actually lasted about 35 minutes. I was disappointed. However, I am not disappointed at all in the ship and I can't wait to sail again. The food was really good. I loved the addition of the Blue Restaurant for Aqua Class guests. The naturalist was a great addition. I really enjoyed what he did. Also enjoyed the Titanic session. All in all, it was a great trip. I will do it again, I just won't sign up for a massage. Thanks for a great cruise.

We were constantly at the customer service because of mistakes made in the cards given for the services. One example: One 14 year old girl was given a card that said she could be served alcohol. We had submitted passports, names and birthdates at least 3 times and the week before were told that one family still needed to submit information. This was either a mistake on the part of the agent or the cruise line. We were not advised that we would be paying tax on the 3rd and 4th occupants of the rooms. We may have been told this verbally but it should have been done in writing. The website for the cruise did not give enough factual information either.

My wife and I sailed on the Celebrity Solstice from Perth to Sydney, Australia. We have sailed many times on Royal Caribbean and also on Azamara, however, this was our first cruise on Celebrity. Over the last few years, we have gravitated to small or mid-sized ships as we enjoy the more intimate service available. Celebrity is working very hard to provide this intimate service on a ship that carries 2850 passengers. They are in the process of implementing a new class of service called "Suite Class". It provides a private lounge called Michael's for suite passengers of a given category, where you can have cocktails and canapés in a more intimate environment. While on this cruise, they opened a "suite class" private dining room called Luminae. While the dedicated galley was not yet in service, the food and service inside Luminae was significantly better than in the main dining room. We only had to fight the crowds when we went to the buffet restaurant. All in all, it was a nice cruise.

The cruise was awesome! Nicer ship, bigger room and better food than we can remember from Royal Caribbean. We bought 3 specialty restaurant package ahead of time and scheduled once on board. We also ate at the Bistro which was only $10/person. The food in the dinning room and cafe was decent, but you could tell it was mass prepared compared to individual plates in restaurants. We really liked the pool grill, coffee shop on 5 and the spa cafe for healthy breakfast options. The premium alcohol package was well worth it (if you drink). The best excursion was the Juneau helicopter glacier tour (save a little money and book directly with the tour operator). The balcony room was spacious enough for 3 people and well maintained. The bathroom seemed bigger than our last cruise and had a sliding shower door instead of a curtain. It was nice to wake up and see the new landscape every morning. We could see little icebergs float by when we were in the Tracy Arm Fjord.

Even the buffet dining room had different choices and an array of fresh fruit, vegetables, salads, main courses, homemade breads, and desserts several daily. Our rooms were always clean with soft linens on the beds and bathroom towels, even some surprises for night time turndown. The evening entertainment was top notch music, dancers, comedians, magician, and aerial shows. All were wonderful and so worthwhile. Had a great tip on the Celebrity Solstice and plan to return soon.

The time aboard this ship was enjoyable for the most part. We would have preferred more activities on days at sea and sometimes there were conflicts with two things we wanted to do being scheduled at the same time so we had to pick one. There seemed to be a large number of fitness and health talks that were trying to sell different products or services and we weren't interested in them. The food in the buffet was excellent but we were somewhat disappointed in the food at dinners in the main dining room. The appetizer portions were extremely small and some of the entrees lacked proper spices although they were always nicely presented. The staff that we dealt with were very accommodating and our stateroom was always very clean and tidy. The ship decor is pleasing although some of the upholstered furniture showed signs of wear in the lounge areas. I went to look for a book in the ship library and I found very few in English. Perhaps I should have looked earlier in the cruise.

Celebrity continues to provide an excellent value. The Solstice was well managed and the cruise was nearly flawless. The only negative comment I have is that the 14th floor cafeteria was over crowded during peak times (8-9 breakfast, 12-1 lunch) and as a result it was often difficult to find seating even for two. I think the solution lies with the touring customer as it appeared that many stayed at the dining tables chatting even after completing their meals even though Celebrity encouraged folks to leave after eating to allow others a table. Not many were receptive to that message. The entertainment was excellent as was the customer service provided by staff.

Celebrity Cruise was just okay, no seats in the buffet area during peak times, bad dinner seating and worst of all, Influenza A ran through the passengers and crew, of course I got it and was quarantined even though I had the flu shot. The mattresses in the stateroom were filthy and stained with various body fluids including blood, ugh. I wasn't supposed to see them, but as I was ill, I needed all the bedding changed. Very difficult to sleep after that, knowing what I was laying on. Stateroom attendant said they couldn't be changed. Won't be going on this cruise line again.

This is a lovely ship. Service is typical Celebrity. Entertainment leaves a lot to be desired, especially the main nightly shows. I don’t understand why solo performances are so popular. Yet, so not good for the main nightly shows. Balcony rooms (which we had) are small, but seams (because of the layout) roomy. The bathroom is surprisingly larger than similar ships I have been on. The gym is very nice. Lots of treadmills, etc. The food in the main dining room is ok, not much provision is made for vegetarians. The buffet however, is fantastic. He asked if there was anything we'd like. I was really thirsty and asked him where the ice machine was. He told me no worries. He brought fresh ice and updated our ice bucket twice daily which as perfect when we came back from long excursions. I also have a medical issue where I need an extension cord for my equipment. He had that completed quickly for the trip. The food, on the ship, was excellent. I highly recommend the classic-drink package. We were 5 days at sea for this trip from Vancouver to Hawaii. Recently, we have sailed some smallish ships, so sailing the Solstice (at close to 3,000 passengers) felt very busy. Soon, though, we came to appreciate the perks that come with their suites. Our Sky Suite was only a bit roomier than our previous Spa cabins, but it gave us access to a private dining room, Luminae. It was a friendly island of quiet and calm, starting with their Embarkation Lunch. We also had access to a private concierge lounge, Michael's Club, with comfy chairs and a private bar. Between our Sky Suite's wonderful butler, Hilario, and our concierge in Michael's we never wanted or even waited for anything! We did a repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Honolulu, so we had 5 restful sea days to enjoy the pampering. Because the Solstice is larger, almost all the Hawaiian ports were tendered, so some passengers were not thrilled by that. Celebrity has never disappointed us and they manage large numbers of passengers very well!
