First time with celebrity, very disappointed. Usually cruise with Holland American. Their speciality restaurant was really really a dispointment. From knowledge, to serves, to extra cost, to food, think that covers most of it. Our room service was great. Alway cleaned up and fresh at least two times a day if not more.

His time and recommendations are greatly appreciated. Will definitely use him again for future trips. Was always pleasant and answered all questions.Dining room meals were very good. Buffet was not as good as the cruise taken on Royal Caribbean line to Alaska. Layout took a lot of walking to go around the island and then to find many of the sections closed.Crew members were very pleasant and tried to keep everyone happy and entertained.

Overall I found the cruise to meet my expectations. This was the first time I had a suite, so some things were a little different. I thought that my luggage should have been delivered a little sooner than it was, didn't come until 8pm. I choose to eat meals in the suite and that seemed to be a hassle. The Michael's lounge is a nice idea. I can't give the overall rating for food a high mark. I have sailed on the Summit before. The shows and entertainment didn't appear to be as good as they were before. The stateroom TV channels were not the best, signal loss, and programming. I am going to sail on the Eclipse in March so I can see if I have been too harsh in my judgement of the Summit.

We sailed over the week of New Years - our itinerary was so special and memorable. Over the course of 7 nights, we sailed to Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten and St. Thomas. It was a beautiful ship, with excellent food and great service. We were not traveling with children, so it was a nice ship for adults. I would not say it was particularly kid friendly in comparison to other ships that offer a lot more excitement, but it was the right ship for us on this vacation! We had a spectacular journey.

The on shore concierge Katie never returned email requests, and the on board concierge never resolved a credit issue. Our travel agent had to resolve it. Then, the butler whom we gave a big tip to, failed to help us on the last day to pack up wine/champagne gifts from Celebrity, thereby losing all. If all you want to do is read a book, then this is the place to do it. No one helps you as a new cruiser. The high end restaurants are excellent but no sense of community once there. hard to meet and socialize. One must study the schedule every day to know where evens are. tours were not great in Bermuda and headed up by generally impoverished locals. Gym was adequate but not impressive. Our suite room was adequate albeit the ship had larger rooms. The ammenities like the lounge and private dining room staffed with amazing people really made the difference for us. We found the menus ok, not great . Not a big variety. The individual shows were interesting and unusual. The celebrity shows were well rehursed but not very well done . We went on the ship for the "America's Cup" and that was handled very poorly. Excursions were sold out months ago, almost no coverage while sailing except a few lectures . Never having been on celebrity before ,I was surprised that days at sea didn't have any other lectures or activities . We have been spoiled ,at our age by our many trips on Holland America. ,smaller ships, fewer people, better food, better lectures and a much larger room and balcony . Each cruise line has their customer so this was a learning experience .

Celebrity Summit was a nice ship, updated with great decor and colors. Not a carnival ride or cartoon character in sight. We had heard that the pool music and announcements were loud and numerous, true. The personnel on board were just wonderful, could not do enough for us. singing waiter Donavan was a bright spot each morning. At the back of the food room they had just started an area where you could choose a steak, chops, chicken or fish from a market like display and they would grill it to your request while you waited. Just a great way to do food individually so don't tell anyone. We had a interesting choice of ports with Newport and Boston as well as 3 days in Bermuda, other ships there were shorter and only included Bermuda. Just wish we could have gone a few weeks sooner to view the America's Cup races off the stern. As it was, breakfast on the stern saw views of Oracle and Artemis boats lying in their yards waiting shipment home.

We were a large, sometimes very loud, group of 12. They always had a smile on their face and accommodated all our requests. From the bar staff to the gentlemen who passed us a cool towel on and off the ship, we loved every moment. I was extremely impressed with how personable Captain Alex was. He always had a joke for us every morning and participated in the staff/ guest pool volleyball game. What impressed me the most was that he was at the gangway to say goodbye to all his guests. However, the ship was always clean and neat. The food in the main dining room was not up to par in our opinion. Some of the entrees were excellent but many of them were just ok. We have been on the Equinox and the Solstice previously and thought the food was much better on both of those ships in the main dining room. The food at the buffet was very good. Captain Kate was very personable and we enjoyed her daily announcements. She personally said good bye to us as we left the ship. We did 7 nights and never got bored... 4 pools, one of which is an indoor spa pool with reclined "beds" built in that have jacuzzi bubbles from below to help relax you. A sauna and 4 jacuzzi's. They are also very big on sanitizing and cleanliness. The hi light of our trip had to be the amazing wait staff at the cosmopolitan restaurant, Douglas, Rewat, and San san. each evening they were our team! remember requests each evening, go the extra mile to ensure your happy and have everything you need! Thanks guys! I hope we have the pleasure of dining with you again. Oh yes and the food was great also, at every restaurant (there are 4 for dinner + the buffet, which has an amazing chef...really!) the buffet has a lot of starches, not so many veggies though, that I was a bit disappointed about.

We were looking forward to sailing on Summit again, so were very disappointed to find that the service and attention to detail seemed "dumbed down." Celebrity used to be about luxury and class. To us, Modern Luxury is not the LOUD music, frequent announcements, and non-stop reminders to buy the deluxe beverage package. Embarkation took over an hour. Extra costs were everywhere - Tuscan Grill had premium priced entrees on top of the $45pp cover charge. Bar service in the lounges was minimal. Aqua Class and Blu were good, but the Blu menu was more limited than our last cruise. Waiter kept calling us his "family" rather than learning our names. It was February, and they had Christmas music playing the first morning. Aqua Class no longer had free bottled water in the cabin after the first day. Captain's Club Elite level provided some nice touches, but not enough for us to return to the Summit or Celebrity.

Extremely pleased with this Celebrity cruise which balanced time on the ship with time in port perfectly. We had a Sky Suite and all the perks. Michaels’ Club was a welcome respite for us that we used frequently. Our butler, was fantastic and knew what we wanted before we could get the request out. Luminae is a great dining room that aspires to be a Michelin 1 star and comes close on occasion. The Chef’s Table ($279/couple) was probably the only better meal on the ship than what one could get in Luminae. The pools were small, sometimes murky in the afternoon, and it was a challenge to find lounge chairs, but we always managed to. The pool grill made excellent burgers and fries, and we tried the buffet for lunch once and it was quite excellent. Bermuda is just a classy place. Elbow Beach was just as beautiful as Horseshoe Bay, but more elegant and had a fine restaurant. A few days prior to embarkation we were contacted by our Shoreside Concierge, Jamie, who effortlessly and efficiently handled our specialty dining reservations and a few other special requests. Separate lines for embarkation made the process pleasant and effortless. The food in Luminae was excellent...the service was excellent (most of the staff remembered us by name after our first meal)...our butler and cabin attendant were personable and didn't miss a single detail. Overall this was a good trip, we had several port of calls that were new to us. The last time we sailed (2015) on the Summit, Captain Kate was in charge. This cruise did not have the "Wow" factor as the one in 2015 did have. Don't get me wrong, it was a good cruise on a good ship. My personal feeling was that there is financial pressure on the crew and seemed that there were less people taking care to make sure all needs were met in a timely manner. There also was pressure to buy "Select Dining" and other items like cooking classes and wine that went overboard. I would rather pay additional upfront and have these included in the package.
