Have always heard great things about Celebrity but, as the 5th cruise line we've sampled, I would not rate it #1. The food was just OK. Truly, not one cruise ship we've been on puts any taste in those yummy LOOKING desserts!! The ship is one of the older ones in the fleet and it is beginning to look shop worn. The travel agent knew we were meeting relaties and had us at the same dining TIME but someone dropped the ball on being at the same TABLE. We had to wait a half hour to be seated once they determined who wasn't going to show up that evening. The relatives had a bunch of things missing from their stateroom and would have been none the wiser except for us being there. Their cabin steward was new and clueless.

And the food was wonderful.Everything about the trip was great except fitness was shutdown on last cruise day for equipment installation!

We have cruised on Celebrity several times and love the cruise line. Celebrity offered at the time we booked Aqua Class for the same price as a Balcony stateroom. It has spoiled me for future cruises. I loved eating in the Blu Dining Room and the food was wonderful. The ports of call were wonderful and we enjoyed the land package as well. Our stateroom could use a little updating. The curtains were shabby and the vanity chair was stained. It was kept very clean and we enjoyed our cabin steward. My only disappointment was the canceling of the Brunch Buffet. Being a foodie, I really appreciated the food and presentation of the many dishes the kitchen had to offer. Would love to see Celebrity bring it back even if it means charging for the event. We had a wonderful time and will book Celebrity again!

GREAT SHIP AND SERVICE

Millennium was a great ship, all the staff was very courteous and helpful. The ship is one of the older ones in their fleet but still very beautiful. We were actually told on the cruise, that she will be decommissioned soon which tells you that she is one of the older ships. Everything was great though and the staff keeps the ships so clean. Food, pools, spa, room.....GREAT! I would definitely sail on this ship again but it looks as though she won't be around much longer.

The ship was spotless and the shows and entertainment in bars and lounges was top notch. We understand 700 new crew joined in Vancouver which may explain why food service and quality was hit and miss for the first 4 days. Also the main smoking area was deck 10 near the pool and smoke drifted in other sitting areas. You could not walk down deck 10 port side without being affected. Having said that the cruise was great and we recommend Celebrity.

Great Ship for a Family Cruise
Reviewed on: 23 Jul 2015
Just arrived home from a week on the Celebrity Millennium, from Vancouver to Seward. We had 24 family members who all had a fantastic time! We splurged an booked one of the penthouse suites as one of our 11 cabins - it was a great decision as it made the perfect "command central" for the whole group for the week (a cocktail party on our 1500 sq ft deck, plus the perfect spot to view the glacier were two of the many reasons!). We did 7 different shore excursions during the week, enjoyed by all. There were so many options for everyone, it was easy to spend time as an family, and with smaller groups for more intimate time as well. Would _definitely_ recommend a cruise for a large family group!

The entertainment each night, and John himself were so enjoyable and top rate. The food was exceptional, as was the staff in the dining room and the buffet. We didn't eat in any other restaurant, but had cocktails in some of the bars, and they were great. The bartender in the Martini bar did wonderful tricks in mixing and pouring drinks. The staff always had a smile on their faces and said hello when you met them. The cocktails were delicious too!!! Amazing time on the Millennium, will definitely travel with Celebrity Lines again. THANKS FOR A GREAT TRIP!!! Also, Nigel a bartender on deck 11 by the walking path, was awesome, always remembered your name!!!

When I heard Crissann was putting together an Alaskan trip I was excited (on my bucket list, plus wanted to go for my husband's 60th) and especially after we saw the itinerary. I asked her a few questions then we were IN! Crissann is always extremely helpful with planning & booking a trip and this was no exception. Bonus too she was on the trip and around to answer questions and make sure things ran smoothly. Celebrity Millennium was a slightly smaller ship than we had been on previously but ended up enjoying that and the staff and everything about the cruise was more than expected. All ports were great stops and we really enjoyed the land portion of the cruise as well. Of course it helped we had such surprising/excellent weather, but kudos to Crissann for putting together such an amazing itinerary!!! Our land tour guide was very nice and informative as well. Can't say enough about this trip--loved it! Everyone we went with felt the same; it was the trip of a lifetime!!!

Good Cruise but Not the Best
Reviewed on: 21 Mar 2016
The ship was nice but we felt it was not the best ship. Had we not been in a suite, this would not have been nearly as enjoyable. We heard Celebrity was an excellent, upscale cruise line. However, if we had been traveling in anything less than a suite, we would not have felt that way. We had our own dining room and drinks lounge, which was fantastic. The food in our private dining room was very good, as was the wait staff. The drinks lounge, Michael's Club, served premium liquors at no extra charge and the wait staff there was excellent, also-very friendly and knew our order. The food in the buffet for breakfast and lunch was only sort of good - definitely not great. At breakfast, they usually ran out of coffee early. They just couldn't keep up with the crowd. They had 3 containers of Fruit Loops and there were hardly any children! They ran out of granola every morning. The cereal selection was sub par. I would not travel Celebrity again unless in a suite. Recommend with reservation.

Service all-around without a doubt could not have been any better. Every member of the crew without exception just made every passenger felt like they made the right ship/cruise choice. On the food, it was OK, except in the specialty restaurants where my cabin class was allowed to take advantage of an upgraded menu. My previous cruise experiences were on ships averaging 700 pp. Feeding over two thousand people and providing exceptional food quality was just like eating in a hotel ballroom, or similar banquet hall. It is almost impossible. If it wasn't for the wonderful servers, these meals would just be run of the mill. Activities were unlimited. It was hard to decide what to take advantage of. All public areas of the ship were well maintained and kept clean and free of litter all of the time.

The Celebrity Cruise ship Millennium was a wonderful ship to cruise to Alaska. They had many choices for excursions. The meals in the restaurants were very good and the buffet also had a great selection of food. The bars were nice but seemed a bit short on staffing during the peak times. The beverage package turned out to be a winner for us. This ship also has the best internet we've ever experienced at sea. A side note: a family member had to leave the cruise ship in the middle of the cruise. The Guest Services Staff were compassionate and very helpful in making the arrangements to get them off the ship and home. We were very impressed with the service in general.

On arriving on board we were given a drink and a smile. Then nothing. No one to tell us where the elevator was or which way to our room. Before we could find someone to ask we were approached by a staff member to sell us a daily drinks package at a ridiculous price each! Chic nights in dining room not adhered to. Passengers attending in ripped jeans and short shorts. Anytime dining seems to require a reservation if you want a table for two. Three nights in a row meat was tough, fat and not fully cooked (duck). Spoke to maitre'd and sous-chef. Never received a final statement of account. Buffet self- service drinks area disorganized. Tuscan Grill was excellent. Entertainment was good. Our cabin steward Frank always kept our cabin well maintained. Once you get a balcony room, you never want anything else! Our room attendant was beyond attentive & provided anything extra we might need (more shampoo, towels, etc.). We purchased the specialty restaurants package when we boarded, which I highly recommend. The food on the ship is good but these 3 restaurants take it to another level. We loved the therapeutic pool, especially after a night of dancing or a day of sightseeing. As we had the premium drink package, we could go anywhere on the ship for a cocktail or glass of wine. The Martini Bar was our favorite, especially when the bartenders put on a show as they mixed drinks. The nightly entertainment was always good no matter if it was a comedy routine, magic act, singing, dancing, etc. I took advantage of movies held outside on the top deck, while Linda gambled. If you wanted quiet, down time you could find it on the ship. We met so many lovely people from so many places! It was a wonderful experience.

-Q-sine the first night was a great idea. The ship offered 30% off the cover charge for “embarkation day”. -The basic beverage package is more than adequate. It covered all specialty beers, and every wine (including sparkling) we ordered. They had several to choose from that were very comparable to the $10 to $20 a bottle “house wines” we drink at home. -Aqua class (with access to Blu) was definitely worth it for us. We still met people when we wanted to and had privacy when we preferred that. Very relaxing environment . -Celebrity is amazingly low tech. When you get a drink, they manually write down your room number (vs. scanning your card). If you want to know the menu in a particular restaurant, guest services instructs you to walk to the restaurant and read the posting outside the door. Tomorrow night's menu? Impossible. -If you use your on board credits for a reservation prior to boarding, bring your receipt. They won't have any record of that on board.

It was OK. The dining room staff was excellent and very attentive. The service in the casual dinning venue and our cabin was not as good. The Captain's Club host and activities were also excellent.

Alaska Cruise and Land Tour

Loved our cruise. Saw unbelievable sights. Felt pampered by the exceptional staff Captain Alex was approachable and funny, as were all the officers I met, because I was lucky enough to win a tour of the bridge in a raffle. Food was delicious, entertainment delightful!

We aren’t ‘cruisers’, but we had a great time and enjoyed it more than we could have expected. The crew, the facilities and the food were fantastic. We all agree that when we cruise again, it will be with Celebrity. It was the right mix of luxury and fun.

A wonderful time. Beautiful area to see. Lots to do on the ship. Captain was very personable and interacted with the passengers. Food was very good. No need to go to specialty restaurant. All ship personal were extremely friendly and helpful. Ship was very clean but showing her age. After upcoming refurnishing, it should but her as one of the smaller Celebrity jewels. Would definitely sail again.

Cruise cancelled due to accident
Reviewed on: 08 Oct 2018
We had to cancel our cruise due to an accident the day before boarding the ship. We had Celebrity Care cruise insurance, and are filing paperwork now -- with the help of our Virtuoso travel advisor Rich Korb. We anticipate being fully reimbursed. We will cruise with Celebrity again when I am completely healed.

Perfect size for Japan cruises
Reviewed on: 07 Nov 2018
The reason this size and class ship is used in Japan, is due to all the low bridges in the harbors. At times we barely got past, with only a few feet to spare. A larger ship would not be able to enter these beautiful harbors. This allows you to get a more intimate view of Japan, the culture, and the many great cities and sights! As with all Celebrity cruises, we had a great and fun time!

Great ports, excursions and food. The ship staff was terrific. The ship is being refurbished, which it needs.
The Ship''s Condition
Reviewed on: 27 Nov 2018
The Millennium needs a complete upgrading. Internet service was poor at best. I will say the crew and staff were great and that made a great difference in what would have been a disappointing cruise otherwise.

Our time aboard our ship was very nice. One thing they could do is not charge for their wifi.

Lovely refurbished ship

Wonderful time. From the very quick and effiortless check in at the port to arriving at our stateroom, service with a smile. Ship has been beautifully redecorated in neutral shades. Staff were very efficient; food was excellent as were the choices and service.. Entertainment was very good.
