Another great experience

My 5th cruise, 3rd on the Star Flyer. Everything was as expected or better. My fellow travelers were interesting and I made several new friends. A highlight was having Mrs. Kraft on board for the whole week and Mr Kraft inboard for the yacht race in St Tropez. I look forward to sailing with them again.

I really enjoyed all aspects of being on a clipper ship from the hoisting and dropping of sails, embarkation rituals, being out on the net in front of the ship and observing the captain and crew in action. I also enjoyed the feeling of being close to the sea throughout the trip. The size of the group was perfect (150 people) because it provided both an intimacy and independence that was well balanced. The group was international but likeminded in many ways. The food was pretty good and certainly plentiful and the wine selection very strong. The dining area, the indoor and outdoor bars and libraries were all lovely. The atmosphere overall was sophisticated but casual. The lectures provided the captain were lively and fun. Also, I liked all the destinations but one. The excursions were all good. Perhaps there could have been more sports activities which were very few.

Our group of 12 wasn’t sure what sailing on a tall ship would be like. To our surprise and delight, it was a highlight of our 10 days on the boat. The accommodations were outstanding, the sfaff was very friendly and the food superb. The boat is large enough to provide smooth sailing and small enough to go from end to the other in a minute. The Captain went out of his way to explain the ship and share the secrets of the sea.

Trip to Dalmatian coast and Greece

The trip was great. The cabins were well appointed but do not have a fridge. The trip will appeal to those who love sailing but falls short on excursions for those who are into history. There is a big emphasis on hiking and bicycle tours, beach time. The places we stopped were excellent with a reasonable amount of time spent in each port. We felt the food could have been more reflective of the areas we were visiting. Lunch and breakfast buffets were very good, dinner not as much.
