Welcome to Azamara

Oh happiness! We sailed on the Pursuit her first four weeks of service in the Azamara family. It was fun to see new crew gel and adopt the Azamara culture. Chef Monica's food was the best we have had on any cruise. Too good! There are small tweaks from the other ships' design. Instead of a casino they now have The Den with tables, chairs, travel books, photos from around the world on a tv monitor, and both future bookings and excursions in that space. People really enjoyed that space far more than the casino was utilized. Activities' games were played there and both the Spirits bar and The Den were lively. Also, there is now an art gallery and we had an artist in residence who was a talented woman, Minori, who paints with coffee. Other tweaks, too, were a big hit. We booked two future cruises which should indicate how well we enjoyed ourselves. Further, we hated to leave.

The ship was very well furnished and the crew tried their best. In our opinion there is something different about this ship that makes people feel unwell with very little ocean swell, I do not know what it is but we talked to other people that have sailed a lot as we have without being ill and there was a lot of the passengers and crew that did not feel well. The state rooms are small and the showers tiney.

This was the first time we had sailed on Azamara I believe this was the second time that the ship pursuit had sailed since being refurbished. The crew was very attentive to all of our needs and the service was first class. A couple of complaints. One of the port of calls was changed within 3 to 4 weeks before we sailed. I probably would not have picked this cruise have a known of the change. The second concern, was the in adequacy Of their Wi-Fi system and as weak as the system is only two devices could be on at a time. For those of us that needed to check emails and modify documents online the service was totally in adequate.

It was just ok! Service was good, but food, entertainment not as good as Celebrity which is our preferred choice for cruising. Too expensive for what was offered.

We had cruised some years before and thought we would never do it again. But this trip itinerary beckoned and we booked a suite on the recently refurbished Pursuit. The ship, the service, and the food were very good, so much so that we agreed we would cruise again!

Great ship and itinerary. This was our first sailing with Azamara and we loved it mainly due to the smaller number of passengers. The ship's captain was personable and highly professional. He navigated the ship seamlessly through Antartica.

The ship is perfect in size. Our room was on the fourth floor and we were not able to get a balcony. With that said, it was in a great location and we never missed not having the balcony. We went to several shows. The staff is exceptional! We loved our ports of Venice, Kotor, Amalfi and Sorrento.

We had a great time onboard and The Azamazing Evening was amazing! All our tours and tour guides (except for Ljubijiana) were stellar. Carlos responded to our mid term evaluation right away! Food on board is exceptional. Our dining experience at Windows, Aqualina and Prime C were fabulous. Ditto the pool bbq and White Nights. The night in Discovery was tainted by a guest (from the 8th deck suites I might add!) throwing food at a guest at another table and lifting her shirt to flash people. Having a high end cabin does not equate with having high end manners it seems ... perhaps people need to sign a code of conduct? Great live music and disco in The Livingroom (though the DJ was trying too hard and was overzealous in manipulating songs people just wanted to dance to.) The crew were friendly and helpful. We were invited to a Virtuoso reception, thank you - but had to send regrets - so much to do onboard ... and sometimes you have to plan time to relax LOL.

Azamara is a great travel experience. The smaller ship makes the experience much more intimate and enjoyable. The staff is totally engaged and prepared to provide the guests with an “Azamazing” experience. The food and the entertainment is excellent, and their attention to detail is also amazing. The weather on the trip was a bit of a challenge, but all said and done, it was an amazing adventure.

We were impressed with the food and staff who served us. The ship was clean at all times and our stateroom was excellent. We did not realize all the beverages were included except for premium alcoholic drinks.all the excursions were extra and costly. Some people we met used locals when we reached port and saved a great deal of money.

The ship was on the smaller size with about 670 passengers - that was nice. The rooms were nicely sized and mine had a balcony that I really enjoyed. The food was great but the number of restaurants was limited. We did not think ahead and book reservations for the two places that required reservations so we were only able to get into the Italian one - which was great. I did think there was a bit too much "segregating" of different classes based on the package you bought - I could get "premium" wine and spirits, but my brothers could not - that was kind of silly.

The ship was amazing. Beautiful design and interior. The staff was exemplary. The only minor complaint would be the age group on board. We were on our honeymoon and did not have many other passengers in our age bracket. Obviously this was expected before, but we were a little surprised at just how elderly most of the passengers were. I would estimate the average ages somewhere in the mid to late 70's.
