A Great Experience

By: Chris and Melinda

Reviewed on: 22 May 2018

Although the largest cruise ship in the world, embarking and disembarking were quick and easy. The security staff did an excellent job. This was only the 5th sailing of this brand new ship and it was immaculate. We received the quality service and food that we have come to expect from RCCL, as this was our 16th sailing with them. We dined at specialty restaurants Chops Grille for about the 8th time, and Jamie's Italian restaurant for the first time. As all the other's it was excellent. The tours we took through Royal caribbean were of Mallorca, Marseilles, Florence and Pisa, and the Amalfi Coast. All were small groups, and the guides were all professional and very educated. Our tour of Pompeii featured a guide who was an archaeologist, and provided an outstanding, educational experience. Our Guide in Florence/Pisa was excellent as well especially considering the bus trip to and from the location was quite lengthy. We rate the entire experience A+!

This wonderful shop is only a month old and is currently the largest ship on the ocean. It is well laid out and the staff was great. The food was great and the activities were amazing. The 10 story slide and 3 story water slid, zip line and mini golf were tons of fun for our family. The boardwalk both inside and outside was very pleasant. The shows were great too. It has something for everyone!!!! It’s a great ship!!!!

A Wonderful Voyage on the Largest Cruise Ship in the World!

By: Traveler

Reviewed on: 18 Aug 2018

Our time aboard was so wonderful that we were a little sorry that we only had one full "at sea" day. There were so many fun activities that it was hard to choose which ones to do first. The children loved the climbing wall and the carousel as well as the slides. My adult son, loved the slide tube that went from the 16th deck to the 6th, even though it was so popular he had to wait about a half hour to start his descent. The food was wonderful, in the main dining room, Windjammers and the newest restaurant: Hooked. The service in the dining rooms and that performed by our cabin steward was first-rate. The shows were outstanding and everyone in the family (we ranged in age from 1 to 76) enjoyed them. The bands, both on the swimming deck and those playing at night were great and we all danced. Finally, everyone liked Central Park. The only disappointment was the lack of a swimming pool suitable for swimming laps. We're looking forward to another trip on this ship.

Lack of information

Probably it is a new ship, the information about on boat activities , open time for some restaurants , kids club information...etc only been released in such a short period before departing. The website got lots of login program and booking error. Some waiters and staffs on the ship are fresh, they know nothing about the ship. The sheet of daily schedule should been given the night before or any earlier , not right in the earlier morning . Expecting people to plan in the breakfast right before going out ? Or it is just a reminder ? Should have more details on those excursion introduction , the informations were given unprofessionally. Beside the paid excursion , should the company also provide the information of the near by at the berthing porrt? The cruise should be family friendly , at the end people got strained whose with the elder and kids . Most of the 4, 5 srtars hotel provide 2 bottles of water daily, it would be much appreciate if the ship does the same.

The ship beautiful, still smells new. For the most part, the ship is the same as the the Oasis & Allure. There are a few new restaurants, seafood, Mexican another which uses foam? Hooked (seafood) was very good but expensive and they give you way too much food. A lot of food was thrown away. The Mexican place which is free, was very good as well. They have 3 different quesadillas, nachos and fixings for 3 different tacos. They have salads and a well stocked salsa bar for extra taste. The food in the Windjammer was good as well but there are too many tables and chairs. You bump into everyone sitting at the tables trying to get to yours and you bump into the person behind you when you get in and out of your seat. Go off peak. Our jr suite was very nice. The only complaint was the shower in the tub. The spray only came out about 4 inches from the wall so you had to stand that close to get wet or hold it the sprayer while you shower. Crew were very polite and helpful. Loved the cruise.

Lovely ship spoiled by Crown and Anchor

By: John D

Reviewed on: 15 Nov 2018

CONS On my cruise Symphony hosted 2700 guests who were at least diamond level. Crown & Anchor venues (and their Concierges) were totally overwhelmed. Port Canaveral was a day stolen from the itinerary to allow CBP to process 5000 passports. Lineups in the terminal and on the ship were enormous. Our shore excursion took us to Marrit Mall which probably depends on cruise traffic to stave off closure. Some shore excursions were so badly affected by customs delays that their buses became mobile seating areas for guests. The helipad was off limits and the lifeboat deck is now a two lane walking track with occasional glimpses of ocean between lifeboats and 12 chairs around the stern. Swaths of venue seats were reserved for VIPs making access to shows a real irritant. PROS The ship is beautiful, staff worked their asses off to keep us happy. The shows were really good if you could get in. SUMMARY Not the ship for me.

A perfect cruise

For a large cruise ship you don't get the feeling that you are with that many people. The only time it seems crowded is at dinner when the elevators back-up with the crowds. The food was really quite good in all restaurants. The activities aboard were varied such that there was enough to do all the time. The islands visited were varied with shopping, touring, swimming, and diving. This ship had four main shows to see, plus impromptu acvtivity on the promenade deck.

We had a great vacation. Did not need to eat at the specialty restaurants or buy drink packages as we had enough of what we wanted ! The food was great in the Windjammer, main Dining room and The Solarium Bistro. We seemed to get plenty of exercise just walking from here to there . Loved the shows and the 2 excursions we went on. Check in was very well organized and was quick! All of our attendants and meal servers were great, friendly and attentive! The only glitch was the virtual balcony. It was not always functioning and when it was there were lines going vertically and horizontally in places. Otherwise that was a good alternative to an outside stateroom.

Had a wonderful trip sailing on the Symphony of the Seas. The entertainment was spectacular, crew was very pleasant and helpful, the ship was immaculate, and it had a good itinerary. The food was pretty good and we enjoyed our dinner at the seafood specialty restaurant (thanks, Donna). It's a huge ship with a lot of people. Be prepared for a lot of walking due to the size of the ship. The only problem that we encountered was a system glitch during check in, which caused a 50-60 min wait (that was quite unfortunate). Also, that caused the wait for elevators on the first day on board to be quite lengthy.

As usual, we had a great time, on a great ship. All of the Oasis class ships are similar- The service is outstanding however we feel that the food in the Windjammer is not as good as other cruises we have been on. The food was generally not hot and the quality of the carving board was poor. We only used the Windjammer for breakfast when necessary but enjoyed the main dining room for this meal. The dinner served in the main dining room was very good with a few exceptions. Once again, the service was exceptional. All in all it was a very nice cruise and we were satisfied.
