Food was wonderful; ship was well designed with spacious rooms, ceiling to floor window that can be lowered; loved the simple design of shower buttons. Disappointed at the level of service - lower than expected. Curt responses, and generally slow service at clearing away used plates during breakfast and lunch. Did not remember drink preferences for breakfast or lunch. Hot water kettle in room had lots of calcium deposits, boiled water had a film of impurities floating on top - problem was not addressed during cruise. Complimentary espresso machine in common area broken on second day, not fixed by end of cruise. Indoor pool had sign that it was temporarily closed, and remained closed for the whole cruise, would like to see a clearer sign that pool is closed for the season - manage expectations. For the higher number of crew ratio to passengers, the service, except for quality of food, was not better than the other river cruise lines (Uniworld, Vantage Travel).
