Beth O’Halloran is an expert in Art; she runs various courses and private gallery visits. She is both an art historian and visual artist with over 15 years experience, giving guided tours of all three of Dublin-based large public galleries – the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery; The National Gallery and the Irish Museum of Modern Art. She is also a lecturer in the National College of Art and Design with a focus on Fine Art practices and contemporary art in both 2 and 3D.
Beth offers in-depth experiences of a plethora of different art genres; she explores works of art with an insider's perspective – combining contextual knowledge and being able to tell 'how they did that.' She has a deep knowledge of paintings dating from early Christian art, the medieval, Renaissance (especially Caravaggio) through to Impressionism, modernism and through to contemporary and conceptual practices. Moreover, she has a wide range of training and experiences with groups of all ages and for those with special needs such as visual or physical impairments or Alzheimers. Beth offers unique combinations of art appreciation and mindfulness and/or mindfulness practices which enhance the viewing experience and ideally bring a moment of rest and expansiveness to a viewer especially in these stressful times. She has extensive credentials to guide meditative experiences, having lived for several years in a Japanese Zen monastery studying meditation.
