Cast a line in the deepest lake in North America, Great Slave Lake. At 614 metres, Great Slave Lake is the tenth-largest lake in the world, and boasts world-class trophy pike fishing. The home base for your fishing expedition is Trout Rock Lodge, a rustic and cozy fishing lodge located approximately one hour outside of Yellowknife NWT. Get your shoulders ready - wrestling a forty inch pike here isn’t out of the ordinary, it’s practically a daily occurrence during peak season.
Day One -
Your experience will begin at the Yellowknife Airport
(flight access from Edmonton), where you will be greeted by lodge staff for
your journey to the remote wilderness of Great Slave Lake. You will travel by
van and floatplane.
Days Two - Four -
Over the next few days you will enjoy memorable outdoor
adventures, starting off with a boat ride on Great Slave Lake to the perfect
fishing spot, where you will fish for the lake’s fierce and monster-size
Northern Pike. You can also enjoy wildlife viewing and may spot bald eagles,
waterfowl, black bear, moose, otter, beaver, lynx, wolf, and even giant wood
bison. In the evenings, enjoy hearty meals and the views from the lodge, relax
in the lounge by the fireplace, or soak in the wood-stove fired hot tub out on
the deck. Accommodations are at the Trout Rock Lodge.
Day Five -
Early this morning you will transfer back to the Yellowknife
Airport by floatplane and van. Your flight to Edmonton will mark the end of
your journey in the Land of the Midnight Sun.
