Health & Safety

As always, the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff are our top priority. In response to COVID-19, we are complying with the latest guidance and recommendations from the Center of Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization, and state and local health departments. These measures include, but are not limited to, ongoing staff training, social distancing policies, extra safety precautions, and increased cleaning and disinfecting protocols throughout the hotel.

1. Ambassador Health, Safety, and Knowledge: We recognize our Hotel Ambassadors are crucial to building an effective safety program. In addition to training on proper hygiene we are enacting the following policies:

Social Distancing: Ensuring every staff member stays at least six feet apart from each other whenever possible.

Proper Materials and Tools: Providing masks, gloves and sanitizing materials for all staff at all times.

Ongoing Training: Conducting continuous training (in areas allowing for social distancing) by Department Leaders on proper preventative measures and posting daily reminder signage in staff areas.

Staff members are instructed to stay at home if they do not feel well and are instructed to contact their leader if they notice a coworker or guest with a cough, shortness of breath, or other known symptoms of Covid-19. Staff members and guests who are exhibiting any of the symptoms of Covid-19 while at the property are instructed to immediately notify their leader or Hotel Security. If we are alerted to any presumptive case of Covid-19 at the hotel, we will immediately work with local authorities to follow the appropriate protocol.

2. Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfecting Protocols: Using approved cleaning products shown effective against viruses, we have increased our already stringent cleanliness guidelines in all areas of the hotel.

Guest Rooms: Housekeeping daily services and turndown services will be available by request only. In between each guest, rooms will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with special attention paid to high-touch items including television remotes, iPads, toilet seats and handles, door and furniture handles, water faucet handles, nightstands, telephones, panels, alarm clocks, hangers, thermostats, lighting controls luggage racks and flooring. Housekeeping personnel will be required to wear masks and gloves. All rooms will include sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer.

Public Spaces: Increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces, with a special focus on the Front Desk, Lobby Bar, Fitness Center, door handles, and public bathrooms. Each area will be closely monitored for any additional cleanliness practices as needed. All elevators will be sanitized at regular intervals, at least once an hour.

Shared Equipment: All shared tools and equipment will be sanitized before, during, and after each shift or anytime it is transferred to a new staff member. This includes phones, radios, computers and other communication devices, payment terminals, kitchen implements, engineering tools, folios, cleaning equipment, keys, time clocks, and all other direct-contact items used throughout the hotel.

Guest Items: All guest touch points will be sanitized after each transaction including credit card devices, pens, and countertops. Room keys will be sanitized before stocking and given to guest.

Room Recovery Protocol: In the event of a presumptive case of Covid-19, the guest room in question will be immediately removed from service and quarantined. The guest room will not be returned to service until the case has been confirmed or cleared. In the event of a positive case, the room will only be returned to service after undergoing an enhanced sanitization protocol by a licensed third-party expert.

3. Social Distancing: Throughout the hotel we will meet state and local guidelines on proper physical distancing.

Front Desk and Concierge: Staff will utilize every other workstation to ensure separation between staff whenever possible.

Queuing: Any area where guests or ambassadors queue will be clearly marked for appropriate physical distancing. This includes check in, check out, elevators, coffee shops and dining areas.

Hotel Elevators: Signage will be posted to explain current procedure. No more than two (2) guest will be permitted per elevator.

Restaurants and Bars: Restaurants and bars will reduce seating capacity to allow for a minimum six feet between seated group/party of guests.

Meeting Spaces: Meeting and banquet set-up arrangements will allow for physical distancing between guests in all meeting and event space.

Retail Spaces: Guests occupancy limits will be enforced to allow for appropriate distancing.

Pool: Pool seating will be configured to allow for at least six feet of separation between groups of guests.

Back of the House: Social distancing protocols will be used in the staff break rooms and shared office spaces to ensure appropriate distancing between ambassadors.

4. Guest Arrival and Departure: Hotel guests arrival and departure will be executed with all proper COVID-19 local and state restrictions and guidelines.

We have traveled with Virtuoso for many years and have always stayed in top hotels. The Joule was probably one of the best we have experienced. We had been forewarned that we were to get an upgrade but were blown away with the size and the degree of luxury we received. Our suite was enormous and very comfortable, excellent bathroom and shower and very comfortable king size bed in a separate room. The hotel services, restaurants and lounge areas were impeccable and the cantilevered swimming pool on the 10th floor was eye catching and enjoyable in the 34 degree heat. The staff service was marvellous with all addressing you by name within the first few hours. Use of house car and a four hour extension for check out all added to a very memorable stay. I would visit Dallas again just to stay in this hotel.
