Great location, if you can afford it!

Great location, challenging hikes, High Tea was terrific! Loved that brunch was included. Shopping was good. On the down side, rooms were just adequate. Staff was not friendly. Room cost was outrageous. NO AIR CONDITIONING!?!? Problems with credit cards, causing extra foreign charges. Restaurant food was just ok.

The Chateau Lake Louise Fairmont is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! The Room. The View. The Service. The Dining. The Amenities. We were upgraded to a suite because the room we had had a stand of trees right in the middle of the view of the lake. The new room was located higher, was bigger and had panoramic windows looking out at Lake Louise, a view that made us feel like we were in Heaven! FIRST CLASS. We felt like ROYALTY!!

Nice but crowded hotel

By: Canada2016

Reviewed on: 03 Aug 2016

The Fairmont Cheateau at Lake Louise was absolutely beautiful and the location on Lake Louise is unbeatable. The hotel provides multiple restaurant options so you can eat somewhere different each meal, and there are numerous activities that you can leave on foot straight from the hotel to do (hiking, kayaking, and more). The scenery is picturesque and this might be one of the prettiest places I have been. However, the hotel is very crowded, as it is a major tourist attraction. Busloads of tourists get dropped off constantly throughout the day, and the hotel is always bustling with people both inside and out. This continues into the night as well. The crowd is a bit of a nuisance, as they are mostly travelers that are not hotel guests; however, I would still recommend staying here at the end of the day for a few days, as the scenery and location is unbeatable.

The upgrade we received was just okay. As stated by a staff member, Fairmont is focusing on their frequent travelers rather than Virutoso or other travel agent bookings. We did appreciate that breakfast was included. Overall, we value the professionalism of the Fairmont staff. The hotel has set aside guest only areas, a great idea given the amount of tourists that come by for a look. The hotel setting is fabulous, surrounded by mountains and an emerald lake.

While the hotel is not on the low end of the scale, it is all about location, location, location, and for that, it's $ well spent. Service was great and very responsive.

The Fairmont in Lake Louise is right on Lake Louise and what a stunning lake it is! We had a junior suite with a Lakeview and watching the weather change over the lake was a sight we will never forget. The concierge team and all of the staff we came in contact with were all polished professionals and treated us like royalty. Our stay was wonderful!

Beautiful property with the best views. Our room was superb in this respect. The grounds offer a lot of activities and are breath taking. Only downside would be the food which was decent but not superb. However, the hotel was great at providing recommendations outside the grounds. The pool/fitness area was also closed for renovations while we were there, without a prior notice. Although not the main reason for choosing that hotel, it would’ve been nice to make use of that area.
