About Us

Amanpulo (which means “peaceful island”) is set on a secluded, private island. Pamalican is part of the Quiniluban group, which makes up the northern half of the Cuyo Islands and is one of nearly 1,800 islands in Palawan, the largest province in the Philippines. A low-lying coral island, Pamalican is rimmed by seven square kilometres of pristine reef.
The resort’s 42 casitas (65-square-metre cottages in hillside and beachfront settings) are modelled after the Philippine bahay kubo (native dwelling). Inside, decorative details pay homage to neighboring islands: pebble-washed walls, coconut-shell tables, rustic Palawan rice and knife baskets, a king-size bed with a rattan headboard and sliding-glass doors that reveal outdoor decks with his-and-her divans. Nearly half the space in a casita is given over to a Cebu-marble bathroom, with twin vanities, separate changing areas, a shower and an elegant bathtub. All rooms have satellite TV and Bowers and Wilkins Airplay speakers, DVDs can be supplied upon request.Aman Villas - For guests in need of something even more exclusive, there are 12 private villas on the island.
The Restaurant, located in a wing at one end of the clubhouse, spills out onto a terrace, with views to Manamoc Island across the channel. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are served here. The menu features Filipino and International cuisine. On the western side of the island, our Beach Club serves Spanish cuisine for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. On the Eastern side of the island, our Lagoon club serves Thai cuisine in the evening. For casual Lunch “feet on the sand” we offer wood fired pizza at the Picnic Grove. Privatebarbecues at the beach may be arranged and private dining is available day and night. Amanpulo’s marble-top Bar occupies a cozy corner of the Clubhouse and extends to the outdoor terrace. A garden walkway leads down from the pool to the beach and the Amanpulo Beach Club. The open-air pavilion provides a tranquil escape. Half-a-dozen white mattresses with matching pillows are spread out on the deck, facing the sea. Shade umbrellas and reclining lounge chairs line the beach.Adjacent to the Beach Club, the Seasports Hut offers a variety of water sports equipment, as well as information on boat charters, water sports lessons, snorkeling and scuba diving sites and sea conditions.
Amanpulo’s 30-metre swimming pool is bordered by two high bougainvillea trellises. Three large, open-air pavilions are situated beside the pool. These come with generously-sized mattresses for all-day, poolside lounging. The pool’s aqua tiles mirror the Sulu Sea. The newly launched Aman Spa is designed as a peaceful sanctuary in which guests can indulge in pampering beauty treatments and enhance their fitness. Located on a hillside above the treetops and with views of the Sulu Sea, the Philippines luxury spa is composed of a series of pavilions constructed of native wood and other natural materials.
The spa experience begins with a pick-up by spa valet. Alternatively, guests can drive themselves to the spa in their private buggy. Guests are welcomed in the Aman Spa’s Reception Pavilion which enjoys panoramic views of the sea. This pavilion includes a lounge and retail space on the entry level, and a Finishing Salon on the floor below for manicures, pedicures and hair appointments. Each treatment room offers a deep-soaking bath tub, washroom, dressing area and steam shower, along with magnificent sea views.Floors are made of native timber and ceilings are layered in capiz (shell). Relaxation salas are situated next to two of the three pavilions and are an idyllic place to rest quietly after a treatment.
The Yoga and Meditation Pavilion enjoys beautiful views of the island and sea and is available for private or group classes. The Fitness Pavilion, located across the path from the Reception Pavilion, is oriented with south-facing windows overlooking Manamoc Island. The top floor houses an airy gymnasium with state-of-the-art equipment. An external staircase leads to the Pilates Studio which offers Allegro Reformers. The lower floor will house Aman Spa wet areas, including male and female lounges with steam rooms, cold plunge pools and outdoor relaxation verandas tucked into the tree canopy.

Best of the Best

Simply sublime is the view from Amanpulo, set on a serene private island — in fact, the name Amanpulo means “peaceful island.” Lovebirds flock here for the remoteness and lavish yet discreet service, hallmarks of an outstanding romantic retreat. There are 18 villas and 42 casitas (beach, hillside and treetop), each with a spacious wooden deck with lounge chairs and a raised Cebu marble bathtub. For the best views, ask for the deluxe hillside casita with a full, expansive view of the ocean. Feeling active? The surrounding seas and fish-filled reef are a snorkeler's and diver's dream.

Advisor Tip

Order the Wagyu-beef burger when dining at the Clubhouse or the seafood paella when in the Beach Club — both are sinfully delicious! –Debbie Juario Ocala, Florida
