Mary is such a pleasure to work with in deciding and planning our vacations. Her knowledge and friendliness makes traveling so much fun. Mary did such a wonderful job with our recent trip to NYC. She is always available even at the last minutes in our trip. ( making that last minute reservation for a car pick-up at the airport). We appreciate all she does for us in making our trips so special.

Amazing location and views from our rooms. Our breakfast service was great. We did not eat other meals there due to the dress code and finer dining option. They honored our request for a late checkout. Also, Kent Sugiura, the front desk manager was very helpful in correcting our closing bill.

You can't beat the location or views when staying at the Mandarin Oriental. You are attached to Columbus Circle Mall with a beautiful Whole Foods in the cellar. You walk out to Central Park and many great spots are walking distance. The service was outstanding and cleanliness of the room was great. There is construction happening now so we didn't get to enjoy the lobby bar however, I'm sure it will be spectacular when it's complete. The restaurant food wasn't the best however, the views make up for that. You just can't go wrong.

We were there for a long weekend, visiting family and conducting business. The Mandarin NYC is always terrific. From the doormen through front desk, restaurant, room service, and housekeeping, they are professional, welcoming, and efficient. It is a quiet oasis in a busy city, a great place for a good night’s rest, and a fine and dignified site for a business meeting. This is our go-to place in New York, by far. Thanks to Jessica Griscavage and Allison Daube for making the arrangements.

Wow! Where to start... From the moment we arrived, to the moment we checked out, our stay at the Mandarin was nothing short of spectacular. The staff, from bellman to desk, are polished and eager to help. Our room was large, comfortable and stocked with any amenity you could need or want. The marble bathroom was well appointed with robes, thick towels, bathtub and separate shower. Our view, enhanced by wall to wall windows overlooking Central Park, was breathtaking. Our stay was nearly 3 weeks ago, and we cannot stop talking about our awesome experience at the Mandarin.

Overpriced and underwhelming

By: Toronto

Reviewed on: 26 Apr 2019

I have stayed at this hotel for the past 6 or 7 years and this was my first unsatisfactory visit. While the hotel has always been pricey the location is perfect for my annual conference and the food and service has always been great. This year the service was poor a number of times and the meal allowance can no longer be used in the lobby bar and the restaurant hours are too limited to work for any of the conference times. The room service was poor, the food quality had declined, pricing had increased and one meal was served without a second set of cutlery or napkin. We specifically asked for the food to be split for one meal or for an extra plate to share three menu items. This wasn't done and the waiter said he would return with an extra pasta bowl (but never showed up in the 40 minutes before we left). One breakfast was cold upon arrival. The other was nearly 20 minutes late which resulted in our being so far back in the ticket entry line we could not sit together.
