Love this hotel!!

This is our regular hotel in Tokyo -the most conveniently located, walking distance to Ginza, direct access to Tokyo Metro, a lot of restaurants, an easy access to Roppongi, Tokyo, etc... major offic/touristice areas. This hotel is just the right size, not too big, not too small -to have adequate services/choices of room services, very well-educated staff. Haven't tried their spa yet, so would love to try the next time we stay there.

The Peninsula Tokyo was our first stop in a 3 week trip to Asia. It set the bar very high with it's elegant decor, friendly and personal staff and outstanding rooms. Beautifully located with easy access to the finest Tokyo has to offer as well as the fun areas like Shinjuku. We had the pleasure of getting to meet the charming Director of Rooms, Meret Brunner, while guests at the hotel. She went out of her way to make sure our every need was met and to alert her colleague at the Peninsula Bangkok to take "good care of us". She is an asset to the Peninsula organization! I hope she will hear of our gratitude. We very much appreciated the quality and luxury of Peninsula Tokyo and look forward to another opportunity to be guests at the hotel.

Expensive, but solid

The room was great, huge in fact, and not just by Tokyo standards. The soaking tub had a TV mounted into the mirror on the wall above it so I could enjoy a little Japanese TV while bathing. Everything was well done. We were traveling in the off-season, so our room was about $500/night, though if it were the usual $800/night I don't think it'd be worth it.

Great hotel, world-class ambiance and service

By: HannahKain

Reviewed on: 20 May 2018

The ambiance is fantastic with live music in the spectacular lobby. The rooms are superbly appointed, down to the nail polish dryer, with views. Breakfast, courtesy of Virtuoso, is an experience whether selecting the Japanese or the Peninsula breakfast, complete with fresh juices and tempting pastries. The concierge is knowledgeable and beyond accommodating, in our case anticipating questions. Then, of course, there is the location next to Ginza and at a subway station. Is there a downside? Yes, avoid the Japanese restaurant, Kyoto Tsuruya, that has mediocre food, is overpriced and definitely not worth the expense. (Kyoto Tsuruya is in the hotel but not owned and operated by Peninsula)
