Advisor Tip

Guests are surprised with the gift of knowledge gained from wellness lectures and classes on how to live a long and healthie life.

The natural wonders around us move and motivate. And helping preserve our forest surroundings for future generations is one of our greatest callings. Here, a few things we’re doing to minimize our impact on our environment:

Water Conservation and Recycling All storm and wastewater is collected, purified, and used to water the forest.

Green Groundskeeping Practices We do not remove trees unless they are diseased, dead, or at risk of falling. If trees must be felled, they are used in other ways, such as being made into steps or benches, or turned into chips for fertilizer.

Green Laundry Practices Daily washing of room linens is only performed when requested. Additionally, environmentally friendly laundry products are exclusively used.

Love Canyon Ranch

By: Happy client

Reviewed on: 06 Jan 2018

Something about this place is very special. My husband and I love taking the exercise classes, going on the hikes, and taking the bike trips. All of the masseuses are quite good. The food is a bit too healthy for me but there's always something to enjoy. The demo cooking classes are great fun. We can't wait to return to Canyon Ranch. PS There are changes going on at Canyon Ranch right now so check and find out what's going on before booking. I am sure that they will make sure that any construction or renovations do not aversely impact the guests but it's worth asking before booking.

Canyon Ranch

The resort has been sold and we noticed a difference. We missed some of the old programs and staff. But after we got used to it we decided it was ok. My room is the same as it’s been for 20 yrs. and could do with redecorsting. Old fashioned bathrooms and spa facilities could be updated. The whole place looks tired. But the linens were fresh and the staff very friendly both of which are extremely important. The food was by and large good.

Fitness and Wellness

I enjoyed my stay at the Ranch. The classes were excellent, with a broad array of offerings, at all levels. I particularly enjoyed Surfset Fitness and Movestrong. The instructors were attentive, cheerful and welcoming, and our Level 4 hike was great. The exercise facility and equipment itself is a bit timeworn - there are a lot of machines and weights, but it felt a little old. The resort is comfortable but not luxurious, with rooms tending toward the utilitarian (albeit with massive televisions). The food and service in the main dining room was average, but the food and service as the casual grill was very good. The spa was fine, but not at the level of a five-star hotel spa. Like most exercise facilities, you get out of the Ranch what you put in - if you want several days of encouragement, exercise and exertion, it is a great spot.
