While the Room was on the small side, it was immaculate and the service was friendly and helpful . The location is in walking distance of everything you would need and the view from the club room was unbelievable.

I don’t recommend this hotel at all. Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant stay. First of all, we were told in an unpleasant manner to wait until 3 pm, if we don’t want to pay the extra charge for early check-in without them even checking the availability. Also, when my husband went to the club lounge, he was told that out room number is not registered for lounge access and that our amenity is only for breakfast, and were made to leave. Later on, he went back to the lounge with the list of all Virtuoso amenities that was provided to us at the time of check-in, the staff finally let him in. Lastly, we asked the travel agent to arrange a microwave in the room. However, even though we had proof that it was requested by our agent, the staff said that “we did not receive the request”. Actually, the front desk staff is more polite and friendly compared to the staff at the lounge.

The Intercontinental Sydney was formerly a Government building, with lots of character. We enjoyed a harbor view room, looking out on the Sydney Opera House, the ferry docks and the bridge.WOW! It was a costly stay but OK in the context of a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Great location

The hotel is starting to show signs of needing major refurbishment, however as you get club access with an eastern harbour room, this location is quite possibly the most superb in Sydney for it's club lounge outlook over the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Club lounge offerings have improved since my last stay here. Close to Circular Quay and the Rocks.

One of my favorite hotels anywhere. Perfectly located one block from Sydney Harbor, the rooms were large with a beautiful view. The roof top restaurant/bar was one of our favorite places to be every morning and early evening. I used the salon for a nail appointment and my son used the work out facilities and had a deep tissue massage. The staff is superior in every aspect of the hotel. The concierge recommended two amazing restaurants within walking distance. I could spend a vacation never leaving this hotel!

This Hotel is so beautiful, we had rooms looking up the Harbour to the Heads, over the Opera House and Botanical Gardens. There was a long window seat in our room where I sat and just looked at the world go by. I also visited the Gardens 5 times, just to walk along the forshore and be amongst nature with the city, restaurants and shopping 5 mins up the road, I will be abck for sure.

OK Stay

By: Mike

Reviewed on: 06 Nov 2019

Stay overall was OK, some aspects were great while others were mediocre. Check-in was great with Michaela upgrading us to a nice suite for our honeymoon. However, our stay turned for a worse when my spouse slipped on the floor at our entryway and injured his hand due to a highly slippery part of it (no idea why it was so slippery). The security staff and one of the managers were initially quite helpful but afterwards the attention disappeared and it did not seem the situation was properly communicated up the chain so it could be properly looked into during our stay. The Club staff though was very nice and Eloise up there runs a great team.

A very good hotel in a very good location. We enjoyed the stay, and especially the Intercontinental room upstairs with a great view of the bay. Food at the hotel was not particularly good, although suitable alternatives were available within walking distance. Great view of the Opera House in Sydney and Botanical Gardens from the room, and staff personnel were most helpful.
