About Us

Located on the corner of 7th and Olive Street, The NoMad Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles continues in the spirit of the original NoMad in New York by taking residence in the historic building, Giannini Place. Originally built in the 1920s as the headquarters for The Bank of Italy, the building’s gold and blue Italianate lobby ceiling has been fully restored and serves as inspiration throughout. Honoring its rich history, The NoMad Los Angeles naturally balances the integrity and character of the Neoclassical landmark with a contemporary California design sensibility.

The NoMad Los Angeles offers 241 rooms and suites, plus 10,000-square feet of meeting and event space, including a rooftop pool and gathering space overlooking Downtown.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

In the midst of a cultural renaissance, Downtown Los Angeles provides some of Los Angeles’s most interesting dining, shopping and entertainment, all within walking distance from the NoMad Los Angeles. The hotel resides just 2 blocks away from the 7th and Metro Stop providing easy access to Hollywood and Santa Monica. The NoMad Los Angeles is just 40 minutes from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and 30 minutes from Bob Hope Airport (BUR).

ROOMS

Designed by Jacques Garcia, each of the 241 rooms, including 31 suites at NoMad Los Angeles looks to Italy for inspiration. The room’s soft color palette is drawn from the lobby’s fully-restored, gold and blue Italianate ceiling. All rooms and suites feature custom-designed furnishings and Bellino linens, in-room art programs from Paris-based design studio be-poles, as well as large flat screen TVs. Many offer free standing pedestal bathtubs and separate water closets.

DINING

The hotel offers four restaurants and bars including a rooftop pool with panoramic views. The NoMad’s approach to food and beverage is refined yet easy and well rooted in the abundance of ingredients native to California. The menu is complemented by one of the world’s most extensive wine programs, with over 1000 selections ranging from affordable to indulgent, and a world class cocktail program overseen by NoMad’s own award-winning mixologist, Leo Robitschek.

Best of the Best

Like the original NoMad in Manhattan, The NoMad Hotel Los Angeles makes its home inside a historic building, this one the landmark 1920s former Bank of Italy. The downtown L.A. manifestation also transports Michelin-starred chef Daniel Humm (along with chef Humm’s fabled roasted chicken stuffed with black truffles) to its plush restaurant, located in the former banking hall. The coffered lobby buzzes with cocktail-slinging bartenders at Giannini Bar and a gilded coffee spot straight out of Venice. Upper floors are reserved for the 241 lavish guest rooms with antique Persian rugs and freestanding tubs.

Hotel Tip

The landscaped rooftop space makes a pleasant hideout with a light-bite café and cocktail bar wrapped around the elevated, guest-only pool – perfect for soaking in the sweeping views of downtown L.A.

Nomad Hotel New York

The Nomad hotel was a bit dark for me but the bar and restaurant were incredible. Also the lights in the room were not switches but old time knobs. I like ease when traveling.
