About Us

Steps from the BEST OF NEW ORLEANS The Roosevelt stands in the same place it has for more than 100 years, at the heart of all the history, cuisine, entertainment and culture that made New Orleans famous. Just past the hotel’s magnificent brass doors are the narrow streets and old-world charm of the French Quarter. Stroll along the shop-lined sidewalks of Royal Street. Immerse yourself in the constant buzz of activity at Jackson Square. Let your ears take you from one club to the next as you soak in a wealth of musical stylings at Preservation Hall or on Frenchmen Street.

With the St. Charles and Canal streetcar lines within blocks of The Roosevelt, the rest of New Orleans is just a few stops away. Walk amongst the centuries-old live oaks of City Park or marvel at the majestic homes of the historic Garden District. When you stay at The Roosevelt, all of New Orleans is yours to explore.

Area Attractions: Jackson Square, French Quarter, Shopping on Royal Street, The National WWII Museum, Audubon Insectarium, Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, New Orleans Museum of Art, The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, The Historic New Orleans Collection, City Park, Audubon Park, .

Health & Beauty Staying at The Roosevelt New Orleans offers you the experience of living in the granduer of the past, while enjoying the modern technology and amenities that we are accustomed to allowing you to maintain your health and beauty during your stay. Visit the Waldorf Astoria Spa and enjoy the most luxurious treatments from facial and body therapies to massage or even a transforming day experience. The 1,200 square feet Fitness Center provides 24 hour access for hotel guests looking to continue their established workout routine or start a new one. Or head to the Rooftop Pool to swim laps or bask in the warmth of the sun.

Dining In a city revered for its cultural and culinary traditions, The Roosevelt has long been a place where visitors and locals have come to indulge. Today it’s no different. From drinks to cuisine to entertainment, The Roosevelt is once again a centerpiece of the New Orleans nightlife.

Best of the Best

A $175 million restoration of the art deco building in 2009 returned The Roosevelt to its place atop the luxury offerings in New Orleans, just off Canal Street and a block from the French Quarter. In 2019, another renovation of the guest rooms, meeting spaces, and rooftop pool has launched the hotel into a class of its own. The Waldorf Astoria Spa, rooftop pool, and garden terrace offer an urban oasis. The award-winning Domenica restaurant presents a fine touch of Italy, while Teddy’s Café is reminiscent of a Parisian patisserie. The Fountain Lounge hosts live music and, on Mondays, serves the local phenomenon, Carl’s fried chicken.

Hotel Tip

Try the famous Sazerac Bar’s namesake cocktail, the official cocktail of New Orleans and said to be the world’s first mixed drink. USA Today recognized this historic bar as the #1 hotel bar in the U.S. in 2018 and 2019.

Waldorf Suites

The Waldorf Suites are among the largest suites in the city and harken back to the era of opulent dwellings found in the original Waldorf Hotel in New York City. Indeed, at an average of 1,300 square feet (121 square meters), these suites are residential in feel and are, in essence, what other hotels might term Presidential Suites.

As with all suites at the Roosevelt, the Waldorfs feature distinct and separate quarters; the parlor includes a dining area with table that seats six and an expansive seating area with a sofa that pulls out into a Queen-sized bed. With a couple of exceptions, each parlor area also has a half-bath (no shower or tub facilities) which is convenient when entertaining.

Each suite is divided into separate living and sleeping areas with large bay windows and bathrooms that feature clawfoot tubs and separate roll-in shower. All amenities and accoutrements found in all rooms are of course to be found in the Astoria Suites.

A great place to stay while visiting NOLA! Great rooms, location that is close to the French Quarter!

a Grande Old Dame

A great grande hotel with a lot of history.  Good location. The Sazerac is one of the best bars in New Orleans in our opinion.  Great atmosphere, not too loud yet great music in the background.  An air of sophistication yet you can relax and have a laugh.  A shout out to our favorite bartender Johnny!!  You made our stay special and fun.We stayed in a King deluxe suite however it seemed small and cramp. The rooms could use some upgrading, a little on the drab/old side.  the bathroom was very small and no tub!  The toilet was crammed up against the shower glass door and one had to sit side saddle.  The bed was however comfortable. The service was great.  It was my 50th birthday and the desk sent up a bottle of champagne with cake and a card signed by the staff! Very nice touch. We would stay there again.

Gorgeous Hotel

The Roosevelt Waldorf Astoria Hotel was absolutely gorgeous. Their lobby was stunning, their rooms were spacious and oh-so-comfy. The staff made sure we were taken care of every chance they got. We had our very own concierge at the hotel, which was an amazing added bonus. Their workout facility was great...they even have free bottled water, fruit, and headphones for you to use on their state-of-the-art treadmills and elliptical machines (which each had their own TV mounted to them). Their rooftop pool was wonderful, but make sure you get there early for a chance to get some lounge chairs. Everything was wonderful.

Exceptional Classy Hotel

We will always reside at The Roosevelt when is NOLA. I love hotels that played a significant role in American history, have classy and luxurious appointments, excellent food, excellent beds and professional friendly staff. We started our visit in another hotel, Omni Royal Gardens, which proved to be awful. For virtually the same price, this was a major upgrade and we will always choose the hotel where Huey Long, the famous governor of the state managed his creatively corrupt regime while enjoying Sazerac cocktails in the gorgeous bar.

My husband and I were so taken by this beautiful hotel. Everyone was so helpful from the desk to the concierge went out of their way to help you. The location is perfect. Close but not in the thick of Bourbon St. We loved the bar. It had a very elegant feel to it, and the breakfast in the restaurant were excellent. We are so happy we were able to experience this historic hotel.

We visit New Orleans every year at Thanksgiving but had never stayed at the Roosevelt until it was recommended by River Oaks Travel. It was amazing and we have already asked Katelyn Lawless, our travel advisor, to count on us staying there next year as well. The hotel staff was exceptional in service, professionalism, accommodating our requests for a quiet room. The room itself was spacious, with a wonderful bed and beautifully appointed. We ate and drank in Teddy's and the Fountain Room and found everything wonderful. GREAT coffee!
