Mendoza got the New York Times' "36 Hours In..." treatment in 2012, and of course, much of the focus was on the wine. This is Argentina, though, so don't discount two staples: excellent cuts of meat and the social scene getting started pretty late (often at, or after, midnight). The wines can come from different soils and altitudes in this region, so come with a diverse palate.
