A Touch Of South

... France, That Is.

Viviers isn't on the Mediterranean coast, but it can feel like the south of France culturally. Several houses are painted in pastel, which is a style more commonly associated with the Provence area -- not with the northern part of the Ardeche region, where Viviers actually is. The Cathedral of Saint-Vincent is the center of the old town, and if you can hike to the madonna statue on the hill above town, it provides glorious views.
