Once An Inland Shipping Capital
Conflans-Sainte-Honorie is in the NW suburbs of Paris, about 15 miles (24 km) from the center of the city. It exists at the confluence of the Seine and Oise rivers, and was once considered the capital of French inland shipping. The right bank of the Seine here is still lined with boats, although now they're communal houseboats. You can meet interesting painters and other artisans in this area, and also tour the old, charming town.
