Victoria Peak

Victoria Peak is one of the all time favourite in Hong Kong. It is the highest peak in Hong Kong with an altitude of 554 meters which is one of the many landmarks of the island. With its incredible height, it is the best spot to offer the bird's eye view of the Victoria Harbor that shows high and crowded buildings in the day and a magnificient night view of the city.

Aberdeen

“Floating Village of Aberdeen”, a quaint and charming village that is not far from the heart of Hong Kong, but seems like light-years away from it. Here you see rows upon rows of the old-fashioned junks and sampans, some house boats where the fishermen and their families still live. It is a very picturesque scene, with the unexpected touch of modernity right and left. The high-rises framing the harbor and the ultra-modern yachts moored not far away complete this picture of contrasts. You will then get to enjoy a 20 minutes Sampan ride around this fishing village.

Repulse Bay

Repulse Bay is the most spectacular bay in the southern part of Hong Kong Island. Its name was given during a 19th century battle when British army repulsed to attack the pirates. Depite having such a story in the past, Repulse Bay is now one of Hong Kong luxurious places. It is an up-market residential area for the rich and the famous. This crescent-shaped stretch of sands is one of the most beautiful beaches in Hong Kong and it is very popular with both the locals and visitors.

Hollywood Road

Having it as one of the first road built in Hong Kong, Hollywood Road has been one of the city's main thoroughfares for more than a hundred years. It was where the Chinese traders first bought their resources and perform trading with foreign traders to make a living. Now, it has been one of the tourists attractions due to its rich history and it is definitely the place to find antiques as it has been its norm from many years back.

Pre-Cruise Tour - Half Day Hong Kong Markets And Countryside Cruise - Hotel Pick Up
Your experience will include a countryside drive and then a series of markets all the most requested stops. In general people find the countryside interesting but much of the area requires fairly long walks, so we will do a panoramic drive before resting in our recommended shopping area.

Markets offer the best 'deals' in Hong Kong but additionally, they give you a true glimpse into the culture and daily life. We have combined the favorite markets, all in close proximity located in Kowloon, for your entertainment.

The Wet Market traditionally sold live animals and livestock out in open air spaces. Today they are instead offering fish, shellfish, and frogs and often this market area includes butcher shops, and fruit and vegetable stalls. Now some also have dried goods, fresh flowers, tofu, cooking sauces, snacks and high-end specialty products. This is a great stop to do first, as it is very local and not as romantic as the others.

The Jade Market, as you would expect, is a series of stalls selling a variety of jade jewelry, objects, and decorations. Jade of all different colors and quality are there, often from other parts of the world. You will notice in China that almost all of the young ladies have a jade bangle on their wrist for good luck. If you are interested in trying one on, you will be instructed to squeeze it over your hand for a tight fit on your wrist, the tradition.

The Flower Market is a jungle of exotic blooms and scents that’s worth immersing yourself in. Though not unique to Hong Kong, the series of stalls with beautiful fresh flowers will call to you. Flowers and plants are frequent gifts in the Chinese culture and during the Chinese New Year, you will see people carrying kumquat trees of all sizes on foot, in cars, and even tied to their motor scooters.

The Bird Market idea is parallel to the dog park in the U.S. As fish, crickets and birds are the favored pets in this country, the Bird Market is a place where locals can bring their birds to 'air out' by hanging their cages on hooks and tree branches. The owners and song birds often sing together, a sight to experience! This, of all the markets, may be the most unique to the Chinese culture. Please note some of the hand-crafted cages, which are art even when empty.

Meeting instructions:
Specific pick up or taxi instructions will appear on your voucher after you purchase your trip.

Special instructions:
- A traditional way to judge the density of jade is to observe the sound of plastic beads gently tapping each other. If you have a piece of real jade, clink it against the stone in question. If it sounds like plastic beads, then the stone in question is probably fake. If there's a deeper, more resonant sound to the clicking, it might be authentic.

Day Tour - Discovering the New Territories

Explore the different side of Hong Kong as you discover Kowloon & the New Territories. This region in Hong Kong can be attributed to the Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory, a lease signed between the Qing Empire and the United Kingdom in 1898. Subsequently, China ceded these lands (present-day New Territories) to the British, giving them full jurisdiction to the area that was necessary to ensure proper military defence of the colony around the island. This New Territories includes 9 districts such as: North District, Sai Kung, Sha Tin, Tai Po, Islands District, Kwai Tsing District, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, and Yuen Long.

It is impossible not to get caught up in each and every aspect. On this full day exploring Hong Kong island you will have an experienced guide and driver to assist you in following any whim.

A journey up to Victoria Peak will provide you with one of the most breath taking views of a city skyline that you will ever come across. Your ascent will take approximately 7 minutes and opens your eyes to unimaginable perspectives of the city. Forgetting your camera would instantly become the biggest blunder of your trip.

From Victoria peak you will be able to see the beautiful Aberdeen bay where calm waters will provide the perfect avenue of discovery of arguably Hong Kong's best breakwater. Maintaining the aura of a fishing village from the 1800s, Aberdeen is home to a unique form of harbor life that is as intriguing as it is picturesque. From boat dwellers to floating restaurants this vibrant water life introduces you to a new definition of living on the coast. The last village of its type in Hong Kong will give the perfect contrast to your discoveries within the bustle of the city sky scrapers.

Cross everything off your list at the famous Stanley Market which is home to walk-in shops and a variety of street food. Navigate the narrow alleyways as you find unique goods around every corner. If you tire yourself out looking for the perfect gift head down to the beautiful Stanley boardwalk for a bite to eat or some local tea. Since Hong Kong is known for its markets, it wouldn't be a true experience without finding some time to explore the intricate back streets of Stanley.

Welcome yourself to Hong Kong with an open mind as your guide helps customize your perfect day in this unforgettable city!
